Changes coming to Tacoma for your glass recycling !

✅ CORRECTION ✅ This post previously mentioned that Solid Waste crews would collect unwanted glass bins. That statement was made in error. Customers will still have the option to keep their glass bins after curbside collection stops, but unwanted bins will NOT be collected by our crews. We apologize for the confusion.

For now, curbside glass is still being collected for recycling. But in the next 1-2 months, single-family residential curbside glass collection will be replaced with drop-off stations throughout the city. So, what should you do with your blue glass bin when that happens?

1. Your bins can still be used for curbside glass recycling until the drop-off stations open.

2. Once curbside glass collection stops, you can keep your bin to collect and transport glass to a drop-off station near you.

3. If you'd rather not keep your bin, you will have the option to bring your bin to the Tacoma Recycle Center for free recycling.

Zero waste extends so far past just the food we eat and how we eat it. Zero waste can extend into your hobbies too! I have plenty of craft related hobbies and like to try and get creative with old clothes/ fabric scraps/ etc. I decided to upcycle some old jeans and fabric scraps into this cute pet vest!

We deserve affordable locally grown food & locally made products that don’t impact our planet for the sake of profits.
