Track 2 is The Voiceless. Lyrically, this track is about a mass migration of entities from a different realm, crossing into our own. Musically, similar to Return to the Void, this track is a semi-shameless reimagining of Danger Zone. It might be tough to parse out, but it is there.

GODS OF A DEAD WORLD is almost here! Thursday at midnight!

Track 3 is Seeds of Hatred. This is another relentless barrage of a song start to finish. Lyrically, it focuses on an area of land that's cursed to eternally bring warfare. Set from the perspective of the location itself, you see the rise and fall of empires, the birth and death of soldiers, and yet the place itself remains exactly the same.

Track 4 is The Art of Ruination. Lyrically, this song is the thesis for the entire album. It's a song about the futility and endlessness of warfare in a world where nothing is permanent.
Musically this groovy-ass track is leaning towards being a power ballad, but realistically not by much.

Track 5 is Psychosomatic Su***de. This song is a bit of a departure both lyrically and musically, the former being more in line with typical death metal stylings, and the latter focusing more on the scoring and time changes.
This song is exactly what it seems. It's a huge, crushing composition from start to finish about the intricacies of someone's mind successfully convincing their body it's dying.

Track 7 is Return to the Void. You can safely consider this the band's theme song. In all regards it's a straightforward Ethereal Void metal track. The twist with this song is that Logan wrote it very much as a copy of Back in Black. Normally I would not sanction this nonsense, but instead, I entitled the song Return to the Void (get it?).
In my opinion this song is still an exercise in shamelessness, but there you are.

Track 8 is The Brown Stone Spire. This is one of the earliest tracks written for the album, though it's up for debate if that makes it more refined.
Rarely do I directly reference external sources in our lyrics. It's happened occasionally, the most notable example being Tombs which is a direct reference of Hyperion by Dan Simmons. This track is a direct reference to a radio show/podcast called Welcome to Night Vale. The Brown Stone Spire is a very infrequent phenomenon/character within the series, but one that I love.
Musically, I think this has some of the most memorably chaotic riffs in the whole release. It's very difficult to maintain that sort of energy which is why so many of the tracks are so short, but it packs a hell of a punch when you first turn it on!

Track 9 is the title track Gods of a Dead World
By far the longest musically, this song explores the ramifications of a world completely destroyed by war. Whether the gods described are actual gods, or simply the progenitors of the war is up to interpretation, and doesn't particularly change the end result of a cold, lifeless world.
Musically, the "semi-ballad" nature of the song introduces more chords and melodic offering than typically expected, in service of the emotional and epic nature of the song. It's an appropriate send-off for an otherwise brisk and unrelenting album.
