Logan, Mercy, and Amalea were my right hand people getting me through tech trouble and handing out fliers! I'm so grateful for the best team. And Amina came to our rescue running new fliers upstairs, and then poor Brian standing solo in the booth was swamped after my speech while we answered questions.

I have my planner for FREE on my website for anyone who wants it!
There is one page that has an old date on it, but you'll download it and print it out then bind it. So just don't include that one page. I also encourage you to add things you love into the intro pages. Even perhaps pictures of your kids doing their homeschool thing. I'm going to make our Log Cabin Microschool a school mascot! It's going to be an AnimalBot. What animal should it be?

Imagine a robotic animal that we built as a robot that drives round the school and converses with the children. They can ask it educational questions or just fun ones. But he's their friend and collaborator during their school days! Maybe we'll program him to crack jokes!

It's official! Do we have any Kindergarteners who want to play with BeeBots, ukeleles, and learn math with fun cartoon beasts? We're taking 10 kids into our littlest innovators cohort!
For the big kids, we'll have 10 seats in our middle school and 10 in our high school cohorts! They will learn biology through virtual reality, US history telling stories through podcasting or website design, English through novel writing with AI and ChatGPT, and Math will be a workshop where everyone has their own curriculum, but we all work together to master it. We'll talk about where math came from in the world and who discovered it. And we're excited about our coding class that will be host to a bunch of tech features as we go along designing this program.
This is brand new and revolutionary. Five classes and you'll feel like you learned ten. The world is changing, and we can no longer tack on additional classes for each tech field that comes along, or we'd be overwhelming our children. (Or, honestly, they simply don't learn it...)
Log Cabin Microschool is making big waves in the future of education and we're only taking a small founding year cohort. This cohort has some parents in it that are excited to link arms and write grants as well. Still searching for a co-op for Fall? We're starting a brand-new STEM group that will be a partnership between Log Cabin Schoolhouse and EsportsAL hosted at Divrgence in Huntsville.
If you think your students might be interested in learning all things tech: artificial intelligence, coding, cybersecurity, and Microsoft Office, come to one of these meetings to help us hash out our FOUNDING year! You'll be part of the building process!
I will be hosting my "AI Writers Guild" live at Divrgence this Fall! So, you can come ask me more about that course as well. Registration for AI Writers Guild is from 3/15 - 8/15 on my website.
We won't know what ages we can offer courses to until we know how many parents want to get involved. So coming to these interest meetings is important if you're interested. If we see that interest is low, we'll start small with just high school - as I have a rising ninth grader. So, definitely bring out your 9th graders!

It's been a long few days on the LCSH website!

We've migrated to a new host because the old one cost me SO many hours every time I needed to get help. And with a one woman show, that's enough times a year that it matters.

So, I believe my data is all migrated now to the new host. Then my email system broke, and I stopped getting any emails. SO, if you emailed me between Sunday and yesterday know that I still love you, I just didn't get your message! Send it again!

After fixing my email, I found out my security certificate wasn't turned on and people still were finding my site spotty. Some would find it down and some would not depending on how the https showed up. BUT I've fixed THAT now.

Well, I don't think I'm totally out of the woods because just today I have students who still can't log in. So, I tried to log out and log back in and couldn't as well! UGH! But after a quick google search of the error code 503 it suggested I try refreshing my screen even though it just said my login didn't work. And what do you know. It WORKED that time. And I have no idea why. So, if you encounter a 503 on my site, try refreshing! LOL...

I'm sure the fun isn't over because I just did my usual plugin maintenance and am finding that it's taking MUCH longer than usual to update them. Not sure what's going on there. But I'm betting it's not good.

Anyhoo!!!!! Know that we love you and are doing our VERY best to bring everything back up to the perfection that you deserve, and we attempt to deliver normally! I sure would appreciate your patience and notes if you see anything fishy on our site!
