Here’s a detail of a new shelf I’m prototyping with a little peek of the raw steel before I put a finish on…I really like the bluing from the welds, what do you think?!
Enjoying the new shop ◻️ making some shelves 👩🏭
Exploring making knives with crystal handles - I can’t tell you the exact stones but these are surprisingly comfortable, balanced and fun to use. What do you think?!
🔪Thanks to for the blank
Full-grain veg-tanned leather is a favorite material of mine (pretty obvious, I know!) I favor it because it’s resilient and authentic. Each hide is a little different, similar to the uniqueness of a slab of marble. It’s exciting to unroll a new hide to see the variety of beautiful marks that are usually concealed in more mass-market types of upholstery leather. It’s nice to see and know the real thing. No fake stamped grains, no plastic finish, no flimsy splits – just delightful imperfection in the form of occasional scars and wrinkles that tell the story of the animal’s life.
