GPD Win 4: Multi-function dock and backlit keyboard confirmed for upcoming gaming handheld.
GPD continues to tease details about the Win 4, a gaming handheld that the company recently compared with the Valve Steam Deck. Underlining the latter's credentials as the handheld gaming device to beat, the Steam Deck has also held the performance crown for a while at this point. However, companies like GPD are finally gaining access to the Ryzen 7 6800U, which features Zen 3+ CPU cores and the Radeon 680M, an iGPU based on AMD's RDNA 2 architecture.
Subsequently, GPD has confirmed that the Win 4 will arrive with a backlit keyboard, which should prove handy when using the device in low light. Thankfully, GPD has done away with the touch-sensitive keyboard that it included in the Win 3. In its place are conventional chiclet keys that span five rows. As the image below highlights, GPD has also mapped a function row to the top row, as well as a few shortcuts to other keys.
Additionally, GPD has previewed a first-party dock. Presumably connecting to the Win 4 via a USB Type-C port, the dock has a full-sized HDMI port for connecting the Win 4 to an external monitor, along with three USB Type-A ports if you use peripherals and RJ45 for wired internet. As far as we can tell, the sole USB Type-C port will be required to power the dock and the Win 4, though. Hopefully, the Win 4's remaining ports remain usable in docked mode too. According to GPD, the Win 4 will land on an unspecified crowdfunding website within the next few months; prices should also be unveiled soon.
DJI OM 6 and Osmo Mobile SE specifications and prices leak as 'Unfold Your Creativity' launch event confirmed.
DJI is far from done this year, despite releasing several drones and the Osmo Action 3, an action camera and GoPro Hero 11 Black series competitor. Setting aside rumours of other drones being in the pipeline, the company has now teased that it has new smartphone gimbals on the horizon too. Both to be marketed under the Osmo Mobile series, the pair will debut tomorrow during an 'Unfold Your Creativity' hardware event.
While DJI is light on details about its next Osmo Mobile gimbals, WinFuture has leaked specifications, press images and prices for the OM 6 and Osmo Mobile SE. In contrast to last year's OM 5, the OM 6 is only expected to arrive in a dark grey colourway, with the Osmo Mobile SE taking over the light grey reins this time around. Although the pair look similar, WinFuture asserts that there will be a healthy price difference. Specificially, the OM SE is rumoured to launch for €109, with DJI setting the OM 6's price at €179.
