Web 3 has always been misinterpreted as a malicious place which is full of hackers and criminals. Remember when your grandfather used to talk like that about the internet? 🤔That's exactly what's going on. A brand new technology is being introduced and many people don't know how to use it yet 🤦‍♀️. Sadly, scammers and criminals have always been at the forefront of new tech trying to take advantage of unexperienced users.

That's why we're here to help! Here are some of the best security practices you can do to defend yourselves against hacks and scammers 👇

1⃣ NEVER EVER share your secret seed phrase with ANYONE. I don't care if your grandma wants to buy some Doge Coin and she needs the phrase - don't trust her. Keep this phrase offline and hidden from everyone.

2⃣ ALWAYS use official links while entering web pages and look for verified social media profiles. There are a lot of copy cats, meaning you could be on a lookalike page sending information to scammers. Avoid using browsers to search for pages, always look for links posted in verified social media accounts.

3⃣ NEVER REPEAT LOG-IN. To limit the chances of a hacker breaching your account, always use a different email and a different password when creating accounts. You should always use two factor authentication if the exchange / wallet offers it.

4⃣ AVOID DMs. Scammers love spamming with captivating messages. They impersonate team members, bots and famous people. No one will ever contact you through a direct message while trying to verify accounts or sell you a project, so never respond to these messages.

5⃣ STAY A STEP AHEAD. As we mentioned before, scammers are always coming up with new ways to steal from you - that's why you need to stay up to date with everything they're trying to do. News and social media platforms are one of the best ways to keep yourself informed to be able to avoid new hacks and scams.

Imagine owning a part of sports history. That would be cool wouldn't it? 🤩 Earlier this year the Australian Open partnered with Decentraland to bring out a set of NFTs called Art Balls ➡ https://ao.artball.io/. These randomly generated tokens had completely different art works and represented a random part of the tennis court 🎾 19cm x 19cm plot, which was randomly assigned to each buyer. The court was divided up into a total of 6,776 plots. Every time a match was played, the NFT was updated with the match data 🔜 score, time, players and with the tennis ball's data “landing location”. If a winning shot from any match landed in your plot, you would be rewarded with bonus material and your NFT would become rarer, therefore increasing its price. What's even cooler is that if the championship shot from any of the 11 finals of the tournament landed on your plot, you would be rewarded with a physical signed ball from the winner! How cool is that?!

📍Anyone could argue that all this is based on pure luck, but if you're a true tennis fan at heart, you'd know what plots are most likely to hit 🔜pro tip: center of serve squares or middle base line. Determining whether this is luck or skill doesn't really matter, what matters is that you're taking part in something you're passionate about and NFTs are making this possible.

🤔So...How did the sale go? How are they doing now? On the launch day, the collection sold out in minutes with a trading volume of $750k. As for now they have traded more than $3million ➡ https://opensea.io/collection/ao-art-ball in secondary sales. Even though the prices have dropped slightly, the benefits given to the holders compensated. There were daily giveaways, signed merchandise from players and access to future online and real-life events.
