I was born and raised in Manchester, England. My love of painting began at an early
age although I did not initially pursue a career in the arts. I rediscovered my passion
for painting when my children were grown and I began to pursue it seriously, taking many classes and workshops and spending many hours painting and drawing. I discovered my love of watercolors and now I work almost exclusively with them.
After living in Michigan, New Jersey and South Florida for many years, I recently moved to the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. I look forward to creating many paintings of my beautiful, new surroundings.
I am an elected member of the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, New York City and won their top award for Watercolor, the Medal of Honor, in their 2005 National Open Exhibition at the National Arts Club. NYC. I am also an elected member of the New Jersey Water Color Society and the Garden State Watercolor Society and have participated in other national shows as well as many outdoor festivals in Florida.
I have been painting in watercolor for many years. I use mainly Arches Cold pressed watercolor paper and Winsor and Newton watercolors. I rarely use masking and I never use white paint. I build up several layers of paint to develop the depth of color, which takes time, so my watercolors can take days, or even weeks to complete.
I hope you find as much enjoyment in viewing my watercolors as I do in creating them. Please message me with any questions or to make a purchase.
Linda
