On Friday, Cass Career Center and Harrisonville High School senior Emma Coffey heads to national competition in Washington, D.C. Emma earned first place at the State Educators Rising conference and will now compete at the national level.

Emma earned first in the “Explore Non-Core Subject Teaching Careers” category at State in early March. She interviewed and created a presentation focused on her marketing instructor Amy Schroeder and her work at CCC.

At the national competition, Emma will once again present her work where she will be judged on content of her slides, presentation, presence, depth of analysis, and overall impact. She will also participate in a Q&A with the judges following her presentation which will be a part of her final score.

Emma will travel to D.C. with her Teaching Professions Instructor Karli Snider. The four-day conference will also include breakout sessions, keynote presentations, and opportunities to meet and interact with students and teachers from across the United States.

Emma will begin her second year of the CCC Teaching Professions program in August. During her first year, she passed her Paraprofessional Certification exam. She will also serve as the DECA President during the 2024-25 school year.

Happy Jaeda Day! Could not be more proud of this girl. She has been with the program two years, earned her paraprofessional and substitute certifications, served as a para at HES all year, is enrolled at Northwest Missouri State next fall to continue her journey towards becoming a teacher, and just a REALLY amazing human! Jaeda, I can’t wait to watch you continue to soar!

Juniors Aron Leach and Emma Coffey taught lessons in their cadet classrooms the last couple of weeks. Both of them taught math lessons on fractions. SO proud of these girls.

Our juniors created bulletin boards for their cadet classroom. Their creativity has no boundaries! 😍

Emma Coffey focused on February as Kindness Month. Students listed ways to show kindness on strips of paper and then they created a paper change with them! L😍VE

Aron was asked to create a space that supports the students’ arctic animal reports. There was a wide variety of animals chosen. 🐻‍❄️ 🐋 🐧

Emma Coffey and Aron Leach, both juniors at HHS, are settled into their cadet classrooms. This week they created letters to send home with their students so their parents can get to know them and more about our program.

This morning we participated in Fantasia for the first time! “Wildcats in the Kitchen” was so much fun! We made homemade hot chocolate, mug cakes, and Pizzadillas. 😋 Thanks Aron, Emmitt, and Abbs for helping us pull it off!
