Hard luck to our u15's Girls in the Gaynor Plate Final today, the girls from Co. Clare snatched a 1-0 win in the last five mins of the game....frustrating for the girls, but that's soccer, they did so well, and here at the League we are super proud of them all!!

The very best of luck to our Gaynor Cup Girls in the big final tomorrow....Bring it home to County, Girls!!👏👏👏

Thank you to referee Noel Maguire and linesman Pat Moloney and Mossie Lynch for doing a fine job officiating at yesterday's u15 girls Gaynor Plate Semi Final match in Charleville between Limerick County and Donegal ....3 very reliable and fair officials always representing Limerick County with integrity...

Excellent soccer, girls!! ...our County ETP u15 girls beat Donegal 3-0 in the plate semi final of the Gaynor Cup yesterday. A great squad performance & goals from Molly Delaney (2) & Yanna Leahy...

Good Luck to our LCDUL Kennedy Cup Team today in there quarter final of the Kennedy Shield against Roscommon...your having a great run lads keep it going!!

Congrats to our U15 Gaynor Cup squad that drew 2-2 v West Cork today & won the penalty shoot out. Goals from Niamh Mannix & Siobhan McMahon.
Great squad performance...well done girls you did yourselves and us proud!!

The u14's also played a challenge match today against Co. Clare at the Charleville astro facilities they impressed as they did so..
Missing a few strong players and up against a talented and physically bigger team, the lads dug deep to score from a corner slightly against the run of play, and then held the lead until conceding a goal towards the end of the match. Taking a draw from the game was a good result, and our boys certainly put heart and soul into it..

Following that the u13's also gave a good showing in a challenge with the District League. Split into two groups both matches ended up giving good results for the home teams.

Well done boys....

The u12's enjoyed their first outing representing both Club and County as they met the Desmond League today..Well done boys, we hope you enjoyed the experience...!

U15's beat Kerry 1-0 yesterday in very difficult weather conditions & took the opportunity to present head coach Marie Curtin with a thank you gift before she goes on maternity leave. Our U13's played in the worst of the weather & lost 0-2.

Gaynor Cup action resumes today.. Our U13's kick off at 2:00 followed by our u15's at 3:30, both teams away to Kerry in Castleisland. Our U15's enjoyed some team building time supporting the Ireland U19's in their Euro Qualifiers last week.

Today we hosted the Liam O'Donovan 2008 Boys Tournament in Charleville. Taking part were our own LCDUL team, along with squads from the Limerick District League, The Desmond League and the South Tipperary League. Played in a format of two simultaneously played off semi finals, the winners of which met each other in the Final and the two losing teams, played each other in the runner up Final.

We are pleased to report that our own LCDUL team won their first game against South Tipperary, good solid game, played at a fast pace, with the eventual score 3-1 to the home team. Scorers for us were Rory Hanly, Josh McLaughlin and Timmy O'Sullivan.

This put us into the Final match with the Limerick District League, and this turned out to be a very tough match, with the two teams neck and neck throughout, District scored first, and held the lead for some time, but could make no further headway, and the County team equalised with a lovely goal from Tadgh McElligott.
With the score a level 1-1 at full time, the tournament rules took us straight into a penalty shootout... never a good way to end a game, and this one had its share of thrills and spills, but after a few tense minutes, the County team eventually just came out on top with a 5-4 victory.

Thank you to the Limerick District League for a great game, to the South Tipperary and Desmond Leagues, to Charleville for ably hosting the tournament, to our referees and all the players and parents for their participation...and last but by no means least, we thank the family of Liam O’Donovan for sponsoring this event, and being with us today…❤️

A big Well Done!! to the lads on our Kennedy Cup Panel who yesterday in Charleville, pulled out a nice little win over North Tipperary, as this year's prestigious competition gets underway..

Scorers for the LCDUL were Tommy Cuzak and Jack Fitzgerald who each got a goal to take the match 2-1 from our neighbours....

We are expecting good progress in the Cup with this talented team..👍👊

Good Luck to the boys of our Kennedy Cup Squad who kick of their campaign with a match v North Tipperary at 1pm in Charleville this coming Sunday....👏👏💪

Well Done and thank you to all the U14's boys who attended our trial/friendly match v The Desmond League this afternoon in Kilmallock, the weather turned bad, but it did not detract from the effort put in and the skill shown by these young fellas, proud to represent both Club and County today.

Our u13's Gaynor Cup Squad started their campaign today in Tipperary Town...and would like to thank Conack Construction for sponsoring their gear and the Chairman and Committee of the LCDUL for their support..

Their first outing against the TSS&DL was a hard fought one and ended with our opponents taking the match on a score of 3-1. However the girls learnt a lot from this first competitive match, and will be the stronger for the experience..

Well done to our u15's Gaynor Cup Panel who drew with the TSS&DL in Tipperary Town this afternoon with a full time score of 1-1.

Our best wishes to this year's u15 Gaynor Cup Panel, who start their campaign with an away fixture at the Canon Hayes Complex in Tipperary Town at 3.30pm this coming Sunday. Where they will take on the TSS&DL.

The girls would like to take the opportunity to thank for kindly sponsoring their new half zips, and the LCDUL committee for all their support...

And we would like to wish them the very best of luck and hope they all enjoy the experience!!

COACHING OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE…..

Coaches with ETP or similar experience can expand their coaching CV by joining us.

Club coaches who would like to advance and gain valuable experience coaching at ETP level can do so by volunteering with the LDCUL.

Limerick County and District Underage League are currently inviting applications from interested parties for the roles of lead and assistant coaches. There would also be opportunities for administrative roles.

There are openings within the following age groups for the upcoming 2021/2022 season.

Boys u11. U12. U13. U14
Girls u12. U13. U15

Any person interested in managing or coaching any of the above please email in the first instance the League Secretary at [email protected] with your name and phone number and the age group you would be interested in.

All applications must be received by Wednesday 25th August with a 5pm deadline.

Thanks to the coaches of our u12’s ETP squad who sent in these cracking photos depicting all the action from last Sunday’s friendly, when the boys took on the Desmond’s Leagues ETP team.

Played in Charleville in beautiful if rather hot weather, the lads showed all that effort in training really pays off, when they put in two excellent performances in both games. Parents and coaches alike were very proud of how far they have come as a unit, so well done boys!

Thanks to Desmond for the challenge and we look forward to playing them again in the rematch.

Beautiful morning up in Murroe today as our u13's ETP wrapped up their season with some fun games and treats. Although it has been a severely disrupted season, the good work that did get done will stand the boys for next season..enjoy the summer lads!!

The LCDUL would like to pass on our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Michael Ryan who incurred a serious injury playing for Cappamore's u16's team recently.

Hope you are soon on the mend Michael!
