My favourite season has rolled around again and what a pleasure it was to paint the 2nd Shot window for Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers 2023.
Had lots of fun painting this piece and was delighted to have my little sister assist.

We are ready and excited for Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers 2023! Spring is in the air and we are thrilled to have had local artist Margaret Isaac Art paint our window assisted by Dominique Isaac. Our window has been entered into the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Carnival in the CBD competition which will be judged by votes from the public and is all about bringing life and colour to the streets of Toowoomba in celebration of spring. We invite you to come and have a coffee and bite to eat and check our window out over the course of September. We'd love to hear your thoughts on our window and once voting opens we will be posting the link so keep you eye out for that. Base Services

Just realised I never posted this piece in its finished form. Started it in 2018 finished it in 2019. I'd had a big break from oil painting when I painted this so it was challenge for me relearning oils. I soon after went back to acrylics though as they are a lot less toxic to work with. Miss that special quality of oils though.
Hi friends, myself and a team of friends and fam "The Wanderers" are taking to the streets on 7 August 2023 to raise awareness for homelessness and in support of locally run Homeless for a Week.
I understand there can be a mentality that people only end up on the street due to poor choices or drug addiction - and in some instances that is the case, but it's not that simple. Homelessness is not just your local drunk on a park bench (who deserves compassion too) it has many faces from all walks of life. People experiencing health issues, relationship breakdown, job loss, and domestic violence among other things.
As I'm sure many of you are aware there is a housing crisis throughout Queensland and you may have even seen its impact on our local community. It's particularly impacting children, youth and elderly people. I personally have both friends and family who have been or are at risk of homelessness.
As a young single working professional with three jobs I currently am fortunate enough to have no issue getting approved for rental accommodation but if I had dependants, pets, or a health issue which impacted my ability to work it could be a very different story. Our current systems are failing the most vunerable which is why as a community it's important to support organisations like the Base Services running campaigns like Homeless for a week in assisting locals on a grassroots level.
Any and all donations go to Homeless for a Week directly and are tax deductible. One off donations encouraged (however small or large). If you'd like to participate by joining my team please feel free to reach out or register yourself - link in bio.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far π
