Meet Barb. September will mark her 55th year as an RN. A fellow caregiver, Amber (Heart Failure Navigator), shares: "I have been blessed to work beside and be taught by this superstar. She has inspired me so much...she is as passionate about healthcare as I am. She holds her peers to high standards. She grows new nurses. This woman bends over, stoops, kneels, and holds large heavy body parts. She treats new wounds and helps heal old wounds. There is no limit to what she does. She even wears stoma earrings to work!" We are very fortunate to have expert nurses like Barb caring for Valley Health patients. 💙

It’s impossible to put into words the amount of respect I have for our physicians, those who save lives, heal patients, and who propel our knowledge of medicine forward each year through research and innovation. As we reflect on the 20th anniversary of 9/11, we commemorate unity, resilience and hope as we honor loved ones lost. I give my gratitude to our first responders and thank them for their countless sacrifices.

During my 30-plus year tenure in health care I have worked to improve patient satisfaction, quality metrics, and physician and employee engagement and served in leadership roles with numerous non‐profit and civic organizations, including chambers of commerce, the American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, and organizations supporting the fine arts.

I look forward to engaging with members of our community (and Facebook followers!) through my role as President and CEO of Valley Health.
