The final pattern tester share for the is from the lovely Heidi 🧡
Heidi made both mini size variations included in the pattern and just look at how gorgeous they turned out!! I gotta say, there's just something about this pattern that looks good in blue and orange💙 Heidi is incredibly talented, and does not let her life of living in an RV keep her from completing stunning quilts!
Fun fact: Heidi is my husband's cousin's mom! So I consider her family, and I am so lucky to have her on my tester team🥰

Babies on quilts.. is there anything better?!💖
This weekend we went on Arlo’s first camping trip with some friends and their babies!🏕️ While packing up I realized I didn’t have a quilt that was deemed an “outside quilt” big enough for all the babies to play on together. My quilts tend to be light and bright in color - not ideal for the mud.🥴
But then I realized I make quilts to be used. They aren’t supposed to sit unloved on the shelf. So this one went right in the dirt. And now, if I ever see a stain on one of my quilts, I’ll smile knowing it has been well loved.🤍
Do you let your quilts leave the house? 🌳

Happy Week 4!🌸
We are cruising right along and pieces of our quilt blocks are starting to take shape this week! This part is always the most fun for me because you really start to see significant progress with each step🤍 Plus, you will not want to miss out on this week's prize🤩 (more on that below)
A couple things to keep in mind this week:
🩷Review pattern diagrams before beginning: Taking a look at the diagrams included in the pattern before you start construction is so helpful so that you have a visual of where you want to end up. Doing this will ensure you won't have any seam ripping in your future (ask me how I know😜)!
🩷Press seams per pattern instructions: This pattern includes pressing directions throughout, and following those will allow for nested seams during the final block construction! If you're not familiar with the best approach to pressing seams, has a great tutorial on her blog!
Finally, for the best part of this week - our sponsor is giving away a 6 month membership to 🥳 You guys. This is an incredible gift. Quilt Scouts is the combination of all of my favorite things in one membership. Community, badges, quilty adventures, you name it!! Don't miss out on a chance to win this!
Also, don't forget!! is offering a 20% discount on longarming for all All Wrapped Up quilt tops received by the end of June🥳 Emily is extremely talented, I'd trust her with any of my quilts!

Happy Week 3! 🌼
You just wrapped up (pun intended😉) the most time consuming week of the QAL, so give yourselves a big pat on the back! And if you didn't quite finish last week's assignment, no need to fret because this week is Strip Piecing! It should go much faster, and will give you a bit of extra breathing room to finish up all that trimming from last week🤍
This week's long straight seams are fairly simple, however there are definitely tips and tricks to making sure they remain consistent from seam to seam:
🌸Pinning: Many quilters pin along the seam every few inches to make sure that your raw edges stay aligned. Others are fast and loose and don't pin at all! I can find it helpful to pin the beginning and end of a seam, so that the two fabric pieces are fed through the machine evenly.
🌸Practice your scant ¼" seam: It just takes practice to get a consistent scant ¼" seam. For an in depth look at perfecting your ¼" seam, scant or not, take a peek at the blog post Megan at has on her website🤍
🌸Reduce stitch length: Reducing your stitch length to 1.5 or 2 mm when strip piecing will help to make sure the seam stays strong once cut.

This one is extra special to me✨
This 2-color floral baby sized version of the All Wrapped Up quilt was made by my own mom Deborah Hagen💕 While choosing the fabric for her test quilt, this stuck out. This floral is very reminiscent of something you would have seen in my Mamaw's house (my mom's mom). We lost my Mamaw just over two years ago now. It's extra special to create with fabric that reminds us of all those beautiful memories, and gives us a little piece of her here on earth😇
The All Wrapped Up QAL is going strong in Week 1, but there is still plenty of time to join! Head to the link in my bio to join me on this quilt along adventure🧡
🌸 We are well into Week 1 of the All Wrapped Up QAL and now that we have chosen our fabrics, it's time to cut!
I honestly kind of love cutting fabric for a quilt - the monotony and sense of accomplishment I get as I march down the cutting instructions checking it off as I go is so peaceful to me!
I've dealt with pain in my hands for years now (likely from playing violin since the age of 4) which definitely is the least enjoyable part of fabric cutting for me. Any recommendations for ergonomic rotary cutters? 😅
Here are a couple of other tips for this step in the quilting process:
🎀Fresh rotary cutter blade - if you're even questioning whether or not you should change out your blade, do it.
🎀Cut on a table the correct height for you - for lots of years, I would put my cutting mat on the floor and go to town, so if you're there, I see you! These days I have an adjustable height table so that I can put the table at just above hip height, and it has saved my back!
🎀New to quilting and not sure what all these WOF cuts mean? - There is a great blog post from on how to cut fabric that you should check out!
🎀Use those labels - keeping your cut pieces organized will help SO much later on as you piece your quilt top.
Don't forget to post a photo this week of your progress, using the hashtag and tag me to be entered to win this week's prize from - a pattern bundle of 3 PDF patterns of your choice✨
There is still plenty of time to join the QAL - sign up at the link in my bio and you'll receive the previous weeks' emails you've missed, as well as be signed up to receive future QAL emails!

Fabric is my love language✨
When I saw the Forest Forage collection come out from I knew I had to use it for a FQ version of All Wrapped Up. These beautiful fabrics are from and Sara helped me choose the perfect backing fabric to coordinate! I have never made a quilt with wovens before, so this is new to me! But those little flowers were way too cute to pass up🥹
Typically this is how I choose fabrics for a quit - I fall in love with a collection and use all fabrics from that collection, OR I find a floral fabric that I absolutely MUST use as a backing and I choose solids that coordinate for the quilt top.
Here are a couple of other ideas if you're having trouble:
🎀Go monochromatic - maybe you want to make a quilt with all different shades of blues!
🎀Complementary colors - think opposite each other on the color wheel (blue/orange, green/red, etc.) There is a super informative and fun blog post from on color theory for quilters that I highly recommend!
🎀Pinterest - this is the greatest creative search engine of all time! Try searching for "spring florals color palette" for an almost infinite number of inspiration pictures!
🎀Use a quilt kit - buying a curated kit from a fabric shop is perfect if you want to feel confident that you will absolutely love your color combos! There are a few fantastic kits available from and 🤍
