Principles of Fair Trade
While there are several different fair trade labels, certifications, and organizations, they share similar goals. These groups work to ensure certain companies engage in fair prices and wages, support marginalized producers, and use environmentally friendly business practices. One of the largest is the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), with over 400 member organizations and networks dedicated to supporting businesses that prioritize people over profits.
1

The WFTO publishes a list of ten principles of fair trade. They are:

Creating opportunities for economically disadvantaged producers
Transparency and accountability
Fair trading practices
Payment of a fair price (including wages)
Ensuring no child labor and forced labor
Commitment to non-discrimination, gender equity and women's economic empowerment, and freedom of association
Ensuring good working conditions
Providing capacity building
Promoting fair trade
Respect for the environment
2
Similar lists are published by other fair trade certifiers, but not all fair trade organizations are equal. While some fair trade organizations will allow their label to be used by brands that follow specific fair trade business practices, the WFTO evaluates the entire supply chain to ensure the consistent application of free trade principles.

7 Salah Faham Pelaburan Saham.

Melabur Saham Adalah Judi.

Melabur Saham Dapat Jadi Jutawan Segera. Saham sama seperti sebuah perniagaan.

Saham Untuk Orang Kaya Dan Elit. Buka akaun CDS bernilai RM10. Dengan modal RM100 pun dah boleh mula.

Pelabur Berjaya Perlu Ada Hubungan Dengan Mereka Yang Terkenal.

Perlu ‘Power’ Dalam Ilmu Kewangan. Ia bukan penentu, Ini kerana, ramai pelabur sebenarnya kantoi kerana mereka gagal mengawal emosi. Bila dah beli saham, tak ikut Trading Plan. Harga saham dah cecah Target Price, tapi kita tak jual; dengan harapan harga saham akan naik lagi.

Cara Cepat Untuk Buat Duit.

Nak Untung Melabur Saham Semudah ‘ABC’.

The 2nd stage that a trader goes through in their journey is called the “Conscious Incompetence” stage. This is when we realize that becoming a successful trader takes work and we just can’t open a price chart and wing it. This is also the stage where most traders embark on a quest to find as much information as they can about the markets.

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve spent more time then you’d like to admit reading books, listening to podcasts and watching videos. Yet, when you try to translate that information to your trading, you seem lost. Why is that? It’s because when we take actions such as reading, watching or listening our eyes and ears work faster than our brains. Let me ask you this. Have you ever come across an interesting section in a book that caused you to zone out? Then, before you know it you’ve completed the entire chapter but can’t remember anything aside from the first few pages?

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia can continue to bank on its strong bilateral trade and investment linkages, especially within Asean, to boost its trade as well as take advantage of various trade pacts such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid, chairman of CIMB Asean Research Institute (CARI) Asean Research and Advocacy, said the country must also not be afraid of opportunities such as those offered by the CPTPP.
He said the greater intra-regional trade and investment is already happening as a result of the trade and tech war the United States (US) has declared against China, as well as the result of regional and other free trade groupings such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and CPTPP.
"The Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) wants to up the ante. It could be improved (intra-Asean trade remains at just around 25 per cent). The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates the decoupling between the US and China could cause a contraction in world GDP by as much as 7.0 per cent in the most extreme case.

"We have to increase trade in and attract investment from regional partners to part compensate for this," he told Bernama.
PM's visit to China
Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) president Tan Sri Soh Thian Lai said Malaysia has done a great job so far towards strengthening bilateral trade and investment linkages with regional trade partners including China during the series of visits by Anwar.
"China has remained Malaysia's largest trading partner for 14 consecutive years, with total trade of RM488 billion in 2022, and is our biggest foreign direct investor with investments amounting to RM55.16 billion.

He said Malaysia is currently negotiating new FTAs such as the Malaysia-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Economic Partnership Agreement (MEEPA), an economic partnership agreement between Malaysia and EFTA members including Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. This has been under negotiation since 2014.

“Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates have also announced in May 2023 the launch of negotiations on a comprehensive partnership agreement.

29/11/2023

Tengku Zafrul said for the Malaysia-EU FTA, Malaysia is conducting a scoping exercise with the EU to assess the gap in their positions and stances and provide a path so that any negotiation to be undertaken would take into account costs and benefits.

“Malaysia also remains open to an FTA with the Republic of Korea and is studying the direction of negotiations based on the benefits to be gained by the country,” he said.

On bilateral IGAs, Tengku Zafrul said Malaysia has been negotiating a new IGA with Qatar since 2022.

Generally, he explained, Malaysia adopts an open approach to any FTA and IGA negotiation opportunities with its trade partners, but any negotiation has to factor in the long-term costs and benefits for the country.

“Among the actions taken before starting new FTA and IGA negotiations is to conduct comprehensive studies such as a cost-benefit analysis for any proposed new negotiations.

“The period of negotiations depends on the agreement and commitment between Malaysia and its negotiating partners towards reaching an understanding for coming up with an agreement that considers all parties’ interests and benefits. ― Bernama

Some believe these trade agreements only benefit large, international corporations, but they also help many small businesses and SMEs more than you might think. Take a handmade batik manufacturer in Malaysia for example. Perhaps a French fashion label wants to export handmade batik to Paris. If the import duties are too high, it would make this deal difficult.

If Malaysia and the EU lifted certain trade barriers via an FTA, the ensuing trade deals would benefit both countries. More than that, it would benefit employees and the families of both companies and even their communities.

For example, the local batik manufacturer might end up getting a third of their sales from exporting to France. They would also be able to afford to hire new staff and create new production facilities to keep up with increased demand.

Small and medium sized businesses matter as much as big companies do. More than 30 million jobs in the EU depend on exports. Collectively, in 2019, trade with countries covered by both the regional and bilateral FTAs accounted for 66.7% of Malaysia’s total trade or RM1.22 trillion. Exports to FTA countries amounted to RM672.1 billion while imports totaled at RM551.5 billion.

Bilateral trade between the EU and Malaysia equaled € 35.2 billion in 2020. EU imports from Malaysia stand at € 24.7 billion in 2020 while EU exports have reached €10.5 billion last year.

The EU is the fifth largest trading partner of Malaysia (after China, Singapore, South Korea and the US), accounting for 7.4 % of the country’s total trade. In 2020, Malaysia became the EU’s 20 largest trading partner in goods.

The EU has the largest network of preferential trading partners in the world. More deals are being negotiated. As the number of FTAs increase, they have to be fully implemented in order for companies of all sizes to benefit from the opportunities they offer.

Some mutually beneficial agreements could take place by simplifying the processes for companies to benefit from preferential tariffs, providing information to SMEs, making international outreach activities more impactful in cooperation with stakeholders and making sure all parties adopt a more proactive approach.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's trade growth fell by 14.5 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) in April 2023 to RM198.0 billion amidst global economic uncertainties.

During the same month, the export value also decreased by 17.4 per cent y-o-y to RM105.4 billion, while the import value shrank 11.1 per cent y-o-y to RM92.6 billion, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DoSM).

Chief statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the decline in Malaysia's export performance was due to lower domestic exports.

"Domestic exports, which accounted for 76.3 per cent of total exports, slipped by 22.3 per cent y-o-y to RM80.4 billion.

24/11/2023

In 2022, Malaysia’s exports and imports posted second consecutive year of double-digit growth of +25.0% (2021: +26.1%) and +31.3% (2021: +23.3%), enabling another year of record trade surplus of +RM255.1 bil (2021: +RM253.7 bil).

Meanwhile, Maybank IB Research expects global real gross domestic product (GDP) growth to slump this year to +1.7% (2022E: +2.9%) amid stagnation/recession in major advanced economies – namely the US and Europe.

“We forecast slower 2023 exports and imports growth of +4.0% (2022: +25.0%) and +6.0% (2022: +31.3%), resulting in narrower trade surplus of +RM240 bil (2022: +RM255.1 bil),” projected the research house.

Bolstering 2023’s slower growth trajectory is the expected firmer growth of China as the country exits its zero COVID-19 policy and re-opens (which is expected to benefit bilateral trade) as well as the mixed outlook for the average prices of major export commodities, ie sustained US$100/barrel for crude oil.

This is despite a lower forecast of RM3,400/metric tonne (MT) for crude palm oil (CPO) (2022: RM5,115/MT).

“Risk to our forecasts is ‘binary’, ie downside from deeper and longer recession in major advanced economies vs stronger-than-expected China’s growth from its re-opening,” added Maybank IB Research. – Jan 19, 2023

What Is an Order?
An order consists of instructions to a broker or brokerage firm to purchase or sell a security on an investor's behalf. An order is the fundamental trading unit of a securities market. Orders are typically placed over the phone or online through a trading platform, although orders may increasingly be placed through automated trading systems and algorithms. When an order is placed, it follows a process of order ex*****on.

Orders broadly fall into different categories, which allow investors to place restrictions on their orders affecting the price and time at which the order can be executed. These conditional order instructions can dictate a particular price level (limit) at which the order must be executed, for how long the order can remain in force, or whether an order is triggered or canceled based on another order, among other things.

Earlier on, Tengku Zafrul spoke about Malaysia’s Budget 2024, especially the government’s drive for fiscal responsibilities as well as its move to attract quality investments into the country.

One of the key strengths of Eightcap is its commitment to regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The broker is regulated by four different authorities, including ASIC, FCA, CySEC, and SCB. These regulatory memberships demonstrate Eightcap's commitment to conducting its operations transparently and responsibly in various parts of the world.

The Standard account allows trading without additional fees. It also offers small price differences (starting from 1.0 pips).
