Hello everyone!

Today marks one whole year of 'Deep Rooted Black Magick'! 😱 The time has flown ridiculously quickly as life has been getting back to a semblance of normality over the past few months and it seems like only yesterday we were putting together ideas for the project in the midst of a lockdown. This project still means so much to us and we're so thankful to all of you that have kept spinning it as we went awol. So, firstly lets have a little celebration for DRBM's 1st Birthday (listen below)! It's been so awesome to watch the project grow and flourish over the last year with you!

Now, the hard bit, we have been very quiet over the last few months. There are many good reasons for this and as much as we wanted to work on music for you our circumstances changed and time was of the essence and it meant, unfortunately, the Witchwood was put on the back burner. We still love this project dearly, as it is our space to express ourselves musically and artistically, but instead of leaving you all out of the loop we have decided to put the project on hiatus.

We can't make any promises but we are sure we'd love to carry on the project at a later date. Thank you all for your support and love over the last year! 💜

We've been a little quiet this month, our biggest apologies! Unfortunately adjusting back to real life as everything gradually opens up again has been a bit of a hindrance to proceedings. However, the work hasn't stopped as the Witchwood never sits idle. Ideas are generating and things are starting to form. With one eye on the future and one eye in the magical realm, we're gradually starting to work on new things.

We want to wish you a very blessed Winter Solstice and a very merry Yule! Tonight the twelve long nights of winter end and the rebirth of the wheel means the nights are getting longer. We begin to come out from the dark depths of winter. It is also the night of The Great Conjunction where Jupiter and Saturn, the two great planets appear closest together in the sky. 2020 is the closet year since 1623! 🌛🌝 🌜

After this year hopefully some planets seemingly aligning are a good sign. 🪐

We want to thank everyone who has supported us over the last 6-7 months, we've been amazed at how much love we have received for our little lockdown project! We're hoping to work hard during 2021 and get this show on the road and unleash the Yeti on the world.

As you can see we have our Yule Goats in the tree as per traditional Scandinavian way. So, from the Witchwood to you, we raise a glass to your health 🍻 May you have a very merry Yule/Christmas and we shall see you all in the New Year! 🎄

Whilst the Witchwood has been preparing for Christmas, we've been hurriedly getting our Christmas admin sorted which has definitely left us exhausted. However, whilst we have been doing so we've been putting on the metal Christmas tunes to keep our spirits high! ❄️

One of Tom's personal favourite Christmas songs is supplied by the Gothic Doom legends Type O Negative, whilst a little dark lyrically the music is perfect for these long, cold winter nights.

The new moon is usually bold and bright but tonight its radiance is dimmed as it passes through the shadow of Earth, or if you prefer tales of Norse mythology the change of appearance is the result of the moon being swallowed by Mánagarm, the Moon Hound, as the sky becomes tainted with blood as the moon is consumed.🌕🐺

As the nights grow darker and colder in the Northern hemisphere the lunar eclipse offers a time of reflection and a chance to part with any barriers that may have been obscuring your path. We hope you take care of yourself as the cleansing energy of the lunar eclipse suspends itself in the sky. ❄️

Alas, the spooky season has come to a close and the monster, beasts and go back to the shadows as the cold bite of winter takes hold.
