Dj Riorden slingerde weer black metal de ether in alsof zijn leven er vanaf hing.

Zo ontstond er in het eerste uur van de Black Monday Radioshow / Metalboys een duistere sfeer..
Alleen een kerstboompje, voorzien van een omgekeerd pasgeboren kindeke Jezus gaf wat licht.
De ene na de andere onheilspellende band kwam en zo kwam hij uiteindelijk aan bij Sagenland..

He schijnt dat deze Twentse band al sinds 2001 bestaat!
Zonde is dan dat pas afgelopen januari de eerste volledige cd ‘oale groond’ uit kwam. Maar dat is wel te verklaren.
Sagenland is een project van 2 alleskunners die al even meegaan in de black metal wereld, namelijk
Floris Velthuis (o.a. Asgrauw en Meslamtaea) en Arjan (o.a. Cultus en Heervader).

Er mag dus wat verwacht worden van deze plaat.
De folk-achtige black metal neemt je mee naar een duister en eenvoudig Twente, waar hard werken voorop staat.
D’r an met de lippe! Dat omvat deze plaat ook wel.
Niet van dat benauwde, onmeunig dikke blek metal speeln!

Hoewel er wat korte rustige stukken in zitten is het voornamelijk lekker stampen 🤘 en aangezien deze mannen dat goed kunnen, mogen we wel zeggen dat de verwachtingen meer dan ingelost worden!
Een aanradertje voor menig black metal fan.

Dat Twente niet meteen de hot spot is op dat gebied misschien ook, maar met Ossaert en andere acts als Soulburn, Asphyx, Dictated, Cultus, Slechtvalk en The Monolith Deathcult is het daar nu ook weer niet zo dun....
