2 Requirement Gathering - done by BAs
3 Test Planning - done by Testers
4 Implementation- Done by coders.
They all happen sequentially. (This is far beyond the truth)
If products were built that way, we would NEVER be able to launch. Water Fall is an obsolete model that has FAILED. Companies following waterfall model are struggling to successfully complete any projects and are scrambling to go towards agile.
In today’s ever evolving technology field where companies are competing against each other to bring new products to customers quickly, success lies in following an Agile model, allowing for faster cycles with a team that wears multiple hats.
Testers job is not to run through some check lists being dictated by BAs and report bugs. Testers job is to drive the efforts that guarantee continuous improvement of the product quality. They must be able to ask the right questions to the right people at the right time.
This is the answer interviewers are looking for from candidates. QA industry has come a long way from being a burden on companies in the early 2000s, forcing them to outsource most QA work to save money, to being the driving force behind quality.
Understanding this is pivotal to your success as a Quality Assurance expert. The QA market is growing and the demand for real QA professionals who understand this at the core is also growing.
