Update from the NEW Empire Crew… INCLUDING REOPENING DATE ✌🏻🙌🏻👀 …’We are pleased to inform all our valued customers that we have made some essential changes as a result of recent events.

Introducing our new provider for security and crowd management, we are delighted to announce that Hinson’s Security Services are our new provider for security at The Middlesbrough Empire. After extensive research among local and regional security providers we decided Hinson’s were the best option for us and for the safety of our customers. Hinson’s have a fantastic reputation within the local area with key contracts including The Globe, Orange Pip Market and Middlesbrough Town Hall. Hinson’s are the primary provider for Middlesbrough and Stockton Council events and with our new management having previously worked with Hinson’s on large scale events they were our first choice. We look forward to working with their team to provide a safer environment moving forward.

We would also like to welcome our incoming manager Jordan Jefferson, Jordan has a wealth of experience delivering high profile events in Teesside and beyond which include events such as Clubland on The Beach, Soundwave Festival and The Libertines on the beach to name a few. He also brings a huge amount of local knowledge with over 20 years’ experience working in the night-time industry.

We are looking forward to a new era here at The Middlesbrough Empire, our new team are currently busy behind the scenes getting to know the building, staff and creating some new amazing events for you all to enjoy. We will officially re-open to the public on Saturday 18 May, full details will follow, we look forward to welcoming you back’.

: Update from The Empire Crew 👀 New Dawn… New Day…. ✌🏻🗓️ 🙌🏻…’It's a brand new era for the Middlesbrough Empire as work begins behind the scenes with a new team and fresh structure as we look to the future. We would like to thank the local authorities for granting this fresh opportunity to rebuild, as we work closely with them for a safer and greater night time economy for our town.

: Update from The Empire Team - Shout-out to the crew behind the scenes working hard for that re-opening date ✌🏻🤝🏻👀 …’We would like to thank our departing General Manager Ash for his 30 years of hard work, dedication and bringing world renowned clubbing and live music to our town. All the best Ash.

Moving forward The Empire will be lead by a new management team with the support and enthusiasm of Barry Faulkner Snr. and Barry Faulkner Jnr.

Meanwhile, security at the venue will be operated by a new, accredited, door supervision company as we make essential and necessary steps to ensure that best practices are adhered to and that Empire is a safe and fun space for everyone when we reopen.

Rest assured that Middlesbrough Empire will continue to dedicate itself to bringing world class entertainment to the north east, as it has done for the past 125 years’.

: NO CREEPS TONIGHT - IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE EMPIRE - Further to a hearing of the licensing committee which we attended today, Middlesbrough Council have taken the decision to temporarily close The Middlesbrough Empire with immediate effect. Whilst we understand the concerns that were raised by a recent incident, we are nonetheless disappointed.

We await the full written decision, and we will then take a few days to consider our response and what actions need to be taken. Obviously any response is now delayed by the bank holiday weekend.

We remain absolutely committed to providing a safe night time space in Middlesbrough.

We apologise that we can’t deliver our Easter weekend program, and any ticket refunds will be processed as soon as possible.
