Beaverdam Estates of Athens

Our Story

Purchased by the late Harrell Canning, Sr. in 1942, the property upon which Beaverdam Estates is currently located was originally a farm. Beginning around 1960, the senior Mr. Canning began to develop the land most immediately adjacent to the property’s main house as a mobile home park. After his death, the now eighteen acre park continued to be run by his surviving spouse, Mary, and the nearly 115 acres surrounding the park managed by the Canning family trust until Mary’s death in 2016. Today, Beaverdam Estates is owned and managed by the Founder’s sons Harrell, Jr. and Russell.
