How Smoking vs Va**ng Affects Your Lungs ● You Must See This ! ! 25/03/2021

Good afternoon HoV fans. so today is just a short one I'm going to be posting a link to a video that shows the effect of smoking vs va**ng for one month. not this is an old video but it been re-uploaded. whilst it doesn't go into great detail you will be able to see the effects of tr from to***co on your lungs

How Smoking vs Va**ng Affects Your Lungs ● You Must See This ! ! Here is what's going into your body after Va**ng for a month VS Smoking To***co Ci******es for a month! There's only one thing that should be going in your ...

24/03/2021

Good afternoon HoV fans, so today we are going to look at what I look for in a mod and why I choose the mods that I use.

first off this is just my own personal view and should be taken as one.

so when I'm looking for a new device be it one to add to the collection or one for everyday use I try and look for mods that have a really good price as well as decent functions and durability

at the moment I have 2 devices that I use daily, one is a fully mechanical mod and the other is a pod system

my mechanical mod is an SQ topside with the Asgard mini RDA on top, now this is what is called a squonk mod so I have a 12ml bottle that's built into the device that I fill up with my liquid. this mod only takes 21700 batteries and is not for a beginner user but for me this is the mod I use the most and it's probably my favorite mod that i own.

my 2nd daily device is the Oxva origin now whilst this is a low-watt sub-ohm device it does pack a nice punch. with its small and slim form factor its one I tend to take with me when I'm going out or I'm driving as it doesn't produce a lot of v***r compared to my mech but it still has a nice hit and wicked flavor.

now price wise both these mods are on the opposite side of the scale as the SQ was over ÂŁ130 all in and my oxva was around ÂŁ40. the reason the sq is so much more money is simply that it's more of a niche market kind of device and is only made in small quantities whereas the oxva is a mass-market device. Not that that makes any difference in why I use them

the main reason I use these mods is for there form factor, how they look and the flavour they have.
you can pay a lot of money or a small amount of money for a mod but it's all about finding one that you like and that suits your needs. I've seen super expensive mods be really rubbish and cheap mods be amazing and vice versa.

the best bit of advice I can give is to set a budget and look around, talk to friends who v**e, message us, find forums and even visit your local shop as sometimes actually holding the mod can make all the difference. once you find the right mod for you it can make the experience of va**ng a lot more enjoyable and it can even become a hobby.

23/03/2021

Good afternoon HoV fans, sorry for not posting yesterday but I had some problems with my home pc. so this week we will continue looking at different v**e mods and going into the more intermediate and advanced side of it. I'm currently working on a full write-up on the mods I use daily and what my personal prefrences are and what I look for when buying a new mod.

What Is Freebase Ni****ne?

Freebase Ni****ne
Freebase is the purest form of ni****ne and is the most commonly used form of ni****ne in e-liquids. Freebase ni****ne is created by adding ammonia to pure ni****ne. This must be done because ni****ne by itself would not be very potent in the body at all; ni****ne is made up of negatively charged particles which essentially means that, when it enters the body, the particles cannot move across organic membranes very well.

So, we must ‘freebase’ the ni****ne in order to make it more effective in the body and increase bioavailability. (Bioavailability refers to the amount at which a substance is absorbed by the body). The vast majority of e-liquids on the market contain freebase ni****ne.

The alternative form of ni****ne used in e-liquids is nic salts. These are found naturally in the to***co leaf, meaning you will have already experienced them if you have smoked a traditional cigarette! Nic salts can cause a softer, smoother throat hit even at high doses.

freebase ni****ne vs nic salts

When To Use Freebase Ni****ne
If you have been va**ng for a while, or you are new va**ng for the pure purpose of quitting smoking (i.e. you simply v**e for your own pleasure), then you may prefer to use freebase ni****ne.

Freebase ni****ne e-liquids are more suitable for higher power, high wattage, mod or sub-ohm devices. If you are a cloud chaser looking for a powerful, more ‘advanced’ va**ng experience, then we would recommend you opt for freebase ni****ne.

This can provide a harsher throat hit and a slower ni****ne absorption than nic salts. For many people, these factors are less important than being able to use powerful mod devices with their e-liquids. Additionally, there are often more unique flavour combinations available in freebase ni****ne e-liquids.

When Not To Use Freebase Ni****ne
Freebase ni****ne is less appropriate for those who are simply looking for an effective way to quit smoking. Nic salts may be more effective here: these can provide a faster ni****ne absorption rate, and a softer throat hit even at higher doses. This means they replicate the experience of a traditional cigarette more closely and can provide more satisfaction to those who require more ni****ne in their system.

If you use a smaller, lower wattage device such as a v**e pen or pod system, then nic salts may be more appropriate for you than freebase ni****ne. You can, of course, still use freebase ni****ne, but you should aim for a VG/PG ratio of 50/50.

VG/PG Ratio
Usually, nic salts will have a VG/PG ratio of 50/50, but this is not always the case. Freebase ni****ne will usually have a ratio of 70/30, but again this can vary between different brands.

E-liquids with a VG/PG ratio of 50/50 tend to be best for smaller, less expensive devices such as pod systems and v**e pens. This is because they do not require much power in order to get a good amount of flavour.

E-liquids with a VG/PG ratio of 70/30 or 80/20 tend to work best with more powerful mod devices. These e-liquids will create larger clouds, but require more power from the device in order to get a strong flavour profile.

16/03/2021

Good Afternoon HoV fans today we are going to take a look at what are nic salts and are they suited to you.

Ni****ne salt (or nic salt) is a type of naturally forming ni****ne found in leaf to***co. In a stupidly simple but chemically complex way, nic salt e-liquids are the most efficient way to deliver ni****ne to your body. A large number of v**ers say they find that nic salts deliver a more satisfying experience, saying e-liquid with ni****ne salt is easier to inhale thanks to its bio-compatibility. Users have cited throat hits of reduced harshness and are able to use more powerful liquids, taking in more ni****ne for each v**e. Many users of lower-powered devices have started to embrace nic salts.

WHY SHOULD I TRY NIC SALTS?
A huge amount of advancement in va**ng is geared towards the activity itself. Want beastly clouds or sensational flavor? Learn everything you need to know about cloud (or flavor) chasing here. Tired of hearing people rattle on about Sub-Ohm va**ng while you stand there with no clue? Get clued up. From the summer juices that made our office physically giddy to the new wave of CBD liquids, the hashtags are focusing on one of two things- better gear or better juice. Until nic salts, nothing was really focusing on the ni****ne itself.

NIC SALTS VERSUS FREEBASE NI****NE
Conventional ni****ne is also known as "freebase" ni****ne. Nic salt is the kind of ni****ne found in the leaves of to***co. The salts contain not only ni****ne but various other organic components. Nic Salt is a compound where the ni****ne is bonded to other chemicals. This is not the case with freebase ni****ne. Studies have been carried out which suggest nic salts were more efficient in delivering ni****ne to users, including an experiment conducted by PAX Labs. The addition of benzoic acid to nic salts reduces the pH, which means va**ng isn't as harsh. Many experiments have taken place with the aim of improving the efficiency of nic salts.

BENEFITS OF NIC SALTS
Better, faster ni****ne fixes that deliver in 6-7 seconds. Why? Freebase ni****ne takes longer for the satisfaction feeling- it's absorbed by the body in a build-up way. If anyone can get crankier faster than a six-week-old baby, it's a quitting smoker craving their hit. Nic salts allow the ni****ne to enter the bloodstream at a similar speed to ci******es- exactly what quitters are looking to replicate. Switch to nic salts and your ni****ne is basically on-demand. PAX labs proved it.
It's technically cheaper. While nic salts themselves are a touch pricier, your e-cigarette will deliver ni****ne more efficiently. That technically translates to va**ng less, consuming less juice, and hey presto, more cash in the bank.
Way better shelf life. Since nic salts are more chemically stable than conventional e-liquids, they store much better and longer. The quality of the ni****ne never fades.
Smooth, mild throat hit. It's unlikely you give two squats about pH levels. Honestly, you don't need to. The scientists did the work. They figured out that nic salts without the added food-grade benzoic acid actually absorb less efficiently. Chuck in the acid (little to no evidence to suggest it isn't safe) and the ni****ne chemically "degrades" into the opposite word- an upgrade. Smooth hits, instant nic rush. Win-win.

NIC SALTS FOR EX-SMOKERS
Nic salts have also proved beneficial for new v**ers who have just quit smoking. They enable them to absorb more ni****ne without being forced to use particularly sophisticated equipment. Some new v**ers find the throat hit provided by freebase ni****ne harsh, whereas ni****ne salts offer a smoother draw. If you are running a high-power device, you can purchase nic salt juice with a lower level of ni****ne to avoid an unpleasantly strong hit. The USA was one of the first markets to see the growth of nic salts, and they are now starting to gain increased exposure in the UK.

REDUCING JUICE CONSUMPTION
The juice is designed to mirror the hit that you would achieve from a cigarette. The salts are absorbed into the bloodstream much faster, delivering an effect within around 6-7 seconds. They have also helped many v**ers to reduce their liquid consumption thanks to the more powerful ni****ne hit on offer. The first nic salts are said to have hit the market in summer 2015 when they were first introduced by PAX. The company's Juul device featured pods containing nic salts, though this device is now unavailable in the European Union as it contained nic salt content of 50mg, 30mg above current TDP restrictions.

GROWING AVAILABILITY

Nonetheless, a wide range of ni****ne salt e-liquids can be purchased in the UK and across the EU. There is a 20mg limit imposed due to TPD requirements, whilst more and more e-juice manufacturers are including nic salts in their catalogs.

The cost of these juices tends to be slightly higher than conventional liquids, though you should find that you use much lower levels thanks to the greater potency of ni****ne. It seems certain that the range of nic salts available in the UK will continue to expand as more v**ers learn about their uses.

IS IT SAFE TO USE NIC-SALTS
If you have any concerns about the safety of ni****ne salts, read on. In all likelihood, nic salts are probably no more dangerous than inhaling freebase ni****ne. There have been some concerns about the benzoic acid used to power nic salts as there has been little conclusive research carried out on its effects on humans. Some suggest that the reduced level of v***r inhaled when nic salts are used could make nic salt juices safer than their more commonly-used counterparts, and certainly safer than smoking ci******es.

CAN I SUB-OHM V**E NIC SALTS?
Not advised. Nic salts aren't recommended for high-powered Sub-Ohm devices because of their high ni****ne concentration. Some lower strengths have been formulated and geared towards RDA or Sub-Ohm v**ers. For the most commonly found strengths though, stay away from the Sub-Ohm and enjoy the v**es that are perfect for nic salts. For a rule of thumb, remember this.

“Any equipment designed for MTL (mouth to lung) va**ng and above 1.0 Ohm resistance is good for nic salts. MTL va**ng is what you want to be doing if you're quitting smoking”

Good Afternoon HoV fans this week we are going to be doing posts on different E-Liquids and how to find the ones which are best suited for you and the device that you use. don't worry this will be done from a beginners point of view for those that are new to va**ng but will also help seasoned v**ers find something new we hope

Good Afternoon HOV fans. So today we are going to be doing a review on the Wotofo pre-made coils for RDA's and RTA's.

now as someone who only uses RDA's and for a long time made his own coils and have friends who make coils for a living I'm going to give a very up-front review on them.

the coils we will be looking at are the 0.17ohm, 0.26ohm, and the 0.33ohm fused Claptons and all have been used as a dual coil set up in my Asgard Mini on my daily mod which is 21700 SQ topside mechanical squonk mod. I used cotton bacon prime for all coils and changed the cotton every 4 days and cleaned the coils with a wire brush before putting fresh cotton in them

First off we are going to take a look at the 0.33 fused Claptons. with there 9 core 28 gauge flat ribbon wire and 38 gauge outer wire these coils are top-notch when it comes to flavour. they have a nice initial hit and if you are new to building on an RDA these are the coils I would suggest going for as the ohms on a dual build won't be super low coming in at around 0.16ohms. Out of the 3 coils I've tested over the last 3 months these ones gave me the best battery life with a single 21700 lasting close to a day and a half. personally, I feel that these coils would be best suited in a single coil RDA that has a slightly more restricted airflow for the best results and battery life from these coils.

Next, we move onto the 0.26ohm fused Claptons. with their 26 gauge quad-core inner and 36 gauge outer these coils sit right around the 0.13ohm mark in a dual coil set up. again these coils are awesome for flavour and produce a fair bit more vapour than the 0.33ohm ones. they have a nice crackle to them when being used and my battery lasted the whole day at work and some time at home before I had to change it out for a fresh one. again these coils will be good for someone that's starting to build or for someone that's a bit more advanced and looking for a good set of coils that are going to last them.

Finally, the 0.17ohm fused Claptons. As a dual set up these coils come in at near enough bang on 0.1ohm. with their 26 gauge triple-core and 38 gauge outer they are perfectly suited for those who want awesome flavour but really want some big clouds. minus testing the other coils I've mentioned for 1 month each these ones are my go-to coils for everyday use. with their awesome flavour, a good amount of vapour, awesome life span and that nichrome crackle that I've come to love are just some of the reasons that I've stayed with these coils for the longest. the only downside to them is because they are such a low ohm coil I've found my battery life to be much less but as someone who is used to this, I'm not overly fussed by it.

The last thing I have to say about all these coils is that you get fantastic value for money and coils that last a very long time if you clean them correctly. I'm going to be doing a video soon on how I put these coils into my daily device so you can see how I've done it and also for those that are new to building how to do it safely.

Good Afternoon HOV fans so today we are going to look at how to check your Batteries for damaged wraps and how to change the wraps on them.

Sooner or later you’re going to need to rewrap your v**e batteries. But how? No matter who you are, if you are using removable batteries sooner or later the plastic coating surrounding them will get damaged. Why is this a problem? In short (get it) BANG!

For those who are not aware, a battery as you see it is mostly the negative part. The only positive is at the top, with normally a dimple. Things go bad when the positive and the negative can touch each other. Items such as keys or coins in the pocket can act as a bridge connecting the two. Additionally, if the wraps are damaged they could touch another battery in your v**e mod. Hence we need a battery wrap and an insulator at the top to help protect the battery as much as possible.

Danger Signs

It is important to keep an eye on your batteries. It doesn’t take long a few seconds to check your batteries each time you use them.

Torn or Split Wraps

The plastic wrap on your batteries is there to keep the negative part of the battery away from the positive. When they both touch each other, in a way that are not supposed to it creates an electrical short.

Now many of our batteries contain a huge amount of energy. These are not like your regular AA batteries. Throughout the day they are mostly used in a form of a trickle, slowly and safely releasing the energy. However when they short all of the energy is released at once. If you’re lucky they will just vent, but they could catch fire, and worse explode.

This isn’t a scare tactic, but the real danger of not regularly checking your battery's outer plastic wrap needs explaining.

Dents and Dings

Unsafe 18650 Battery with Dent
Additionally along with checking the battery wrap, each time you insert the into your v**e device. Check for dents and dings on the battery. Furthermore don’t forget to check the positive connection has not become squashed. Narrowing the gap between the negative and positive.

If there are dents stop using them! and safely dispose of them!

Check with your local authority on how to dispose of your batteries. For the safety of you and others. Don’t forget to wrap the battery positive and negative terminals with electrical insulation tape. I prefer to wrap the top and bottom and then further insulate the whole battery with electrical tape.

While the dents may look ok, these too can cause serious harm. In particular, if the wall of the batteries fails you could find yourself covered in a highly flammable solvent known as (Lithium hexafluorophosphate). Naturally, any tiny source of ignition and you just turned yourself into a human candle.

Puffing or Bulging
One last thing to keep an eye out for with your va**ng batteries is puffing or bulging out. Perhaps you put your batteries down on the table and notice they wobble?

If any part of the battery has become puffed out or raised. Stop using them and safely dispose of them!

Check with your local authority on how to dispose of your batteries. Don’t forget to wrap the battery positive and negative terminals with electrical insulation tape.

Puffing or bulging of the battery is the same principle as dents but worse. The chemicals within the battery are producing gas in a manner that they should not. Or perhaps too much of what it should. This gas has to go somewhere. The battery is a sealed container but now it has the gases pushing outwards. If the wall fails, not only is there highly flammable solvent but behind it is an explosive force.

As always with va**ng safety first.

Now it isn’t hard to keep an eye on your batteries, a few seconds to inspect each battery is all it needs. However if the battery wrap has just become slightly worn or there is a slight hole, there is good news. You don’t need to dispose of your batteries as long as there are no signs of damage. A simple redress is all that is required.

Battery Wrapping

Battery wraps can come in a great many varieties some are just plain and functional, while some add a decorative touch. However, you are going to need a few little tools to complete the rewrapping of your v**e batteries.

What's Required
Craft knife.
Glass or heatproof surface. A silicone baking tray will do the job nicely.
Hairdryer, but a heat-gun works quicker and gives a better result.
New Battery Wraps
New Battery Insulators

Battery insulators on the top of the battery are important. Helping to keep the negative and positive of the battery apart at the point they are the closest. Don’t just use your old ones, they could be wearing thin. Furthermore, they only cost pennies, some of the best battery companies actually give you spare wraps, insulators, and a hard case when you buy new batteries.

* Important * – Always work with a clean surface area, away from metallic objects as to prevent accidentally shorting your battery.

Removing the old wrap

Time to start the how to rewrap your v**e batteries guide, so let us begin. Using a craft knife, gently and carefully cut a slit in the plastic wrap at the bottom of the battery. Just enough so that you can start peeling the plastic cover with your fingers. Chances are the old battery insulator fell off from the positive end of your battery, during the unwrapping. If not, just peel off the old one.

With the old battery wrap removed, place the battery on the work surface with the positive facing up. This helps prevents accidents.

* Important * – While the battery wrap is off, double check your battery for dents, dings, and any signs of the battery puffing outwards.

Begin a new

With your v**e batteries undressed, we can move onto the next step of the how-to rewrap v**e batteries guide.

Place your new battery insulator on the top of the battery. Ensure it sits centrally. A point of note, there are two types of battery insulators. Those that stick in place and others that are loose. If possible buy the stick-down variety, it just makes life a little easier.

Next, grab your new wrap and place it over your battery, as the battery is sat on a surface the battery wrap will be in the wrong position. Meaning that there will be no protection towards the bottom of the battery. Leaving the negative polarity exposed.

Now before we start shrinking the battery wrap, we need to ensure there is enough space at the top to keep the insulator held in place. While allowing enough space at the bottom to ensure the side of the battery at the base and its edges are covered. It is Roughly 1.5 mm at the top. However, the best way to check is by pushing the lip of the plastic wrap down making sure that there is enough to hold the gasket in place after shrinking slightly.

Drop and Roll
Ok, not quite but it's close, and please don’t drop your batteries. Once you have the spacing about where it needs to be, then here comes the fun part. Firstly make sure your work surface is protected from heat. I use a borosilicate glass that I have around that is used in 3D printing. But you could use a silicone baking mold or a wooden kitchen board.

Lay the battery flat on the prepared work surface and turn your hairdryer or heat gun on. If you are using a hairdryer will need it to be on full. However, if you are using a powerful heat gun then be cautious. I use a heat gun on a medium setting, which is around, for split seconds at a time and from a good distance. If in doubt keep the temperature low and the time on the battery short. At least until you get a feel for the battery wrap shrinking. It doesn’t take long to get an idea. Please don’t boil your batteries.

Now, as soon as you have turned your hair dryer or heat gun on, I am sure you see the battery start moving off. That's a good thing, it allows the heat to get to all areas as much as possible. Don’t let it roll too far, take the heat away from the battery. Put the battery back to its start position and turn on the heat source again. Until you get a nice wrap on your battery.

What tends to happen is that the battery wrap looks nice apart from the seam lines. Just run the heat gun or hair dryer over the seam in quick passes and you will soon see the lines disappear. However, they may not disappear completely, after all it's a join.

That’s it double-check your batteries and put them on charge if required. Furthermore, the v**e batteries are back to being safe to use and probably looking better than before.

Good Afternoon HOV fans. So today we have our review on the Voopoo Drag X, we will give you all the pro and cons of this AIO device

So to start things off let's have a look at the device itself. With its sleek tubelike design, fantastic color combinations (the retro one is our favorite), and an easy-to-read screen.

We like the 0.3ohm coils They sit nicely between DTL and MTL and give good battery life.
The lower coils 0.2 are nice but don’t last more than a few days.
They’re also quite heavy on the battery.
The standard and TPD pods have a nice big fill port but do have to be removed to be refilled.
The RTA pod on the other hand has a very restricted fill port only the thinnest shortfill tips or needle tips can fill the RTA without it backing up and going everywhere. (You know what I mean when the Air cannot escape the pod as quickly as you fill it so the liquid seals up around the opening and just goes everywhere.
Once your battery hits 80% (approx) it’s hard to tell on the drag screen. You will suffer voltage drop. This is more noticeable in the lower ohm range of the coils, the voltage drop only seems to come into play in “Smart mode”, which is designed to read the PNP coil and adjust and cap your wattage to the spec of the installed coil.
RBA mode overrides the wattage cap and allows you to set whatever you want, of course coil safety, ohms law etc needs to be observed in this mode.
The RTA is nice again I run a 3mm 0.35 at about 45 w in RBA mode. The only downside is the RTA is 2ml only and there is no non TPD RTA unlike the standard pods which are either 2ml (TPD) or 5ml (Bought separately).

It is a lovely little piece of kit.
The leather is really nice, the battery door is solid, the smart mode is great for lazy/inexperienced users. Adjustable airflow is nice. USB Type C.

now whilst the review may seem like we don't like the device this is not true as it seems to be the one our staff always come to work with as it's just such an excellent device for everyday use.
This is most definitely a device that lives in our pockets every day.

Good morning HOV fans. We hope you all had a fantastic weekend, so last week we showed you how to get into va**ng, battery safety and how to prime your coil. this week we will be doing posts on more intermediate kits and how to choose the right device for when you want to upgrade or when you feel like you want a change. if you have any questions about va**ng please feel free to message us.

Good Afternoon HOV, hope you have all had a good
week.

so today we have our review on the Oxva Origin pod system.

Here at the HOV HQ we have all had the chance to use the Oxva Origin and we have all loved it, the only thing we were divided on was which coil to use as some of us love the 0.2ohm coil and some love the 0.3ohm coil.

With its removable 18650 battery, stunning designs, small form factor and it's AIO pod system. We found it suited everyone at the office, even those of us who prefer a more powerful device found ourselves reaching for this mod.

both coils that come in the kit are amazing for flavour and have a fantastic lifespan. The 0.2omh mesh coil does produce more vapour at around 30 watts its flavour and battery life surprised us all with it easily lasting the whole day and also giving us the advantage of being able to use any liquid we decided to put in the pod.

The 0.3ohm coil keeps up with the more powerful coil but it has a slightly more restricted airflow for those who either prefer an MTL set up or are just getting into va**ng and still want that cigarette style draw. The flavour is the same as the other coil but battery life was a fair bit longer as we found we could run it as a much lower wattage and still get the same flavour we loved.

we also tested the device with nic salts as well as the normal 70/30 liquids we use and found it to be fantastic with both types of liquid.

As much as we have tried we can't find a fault with this awesome kit and it will be one that sits on our desks for a long time to come.

if you are interested in picking up this awesome device then click on the link below and it will take you straight to it on our website.
