Through Stormy Seas
When something bad happens to someone, Christians will often say, “Well, everything happens for a reason,” or “It must have been God’s plan,” but that’s not necessarily true. Bad things happen to good people all the time. Just because you’re a Christian doesn’t mean you’ll never experience pain, suffering, tears, or death. Good people die in auto accidents, get cancer, robbed, murdered, abused, or r***d - not because it was “God’s plan,” but rather because of sin. This is a sinful world and it won’t be without pain and heartache until Jesus comes. Until then, there is an ongoing battle between good and evil. God does have a plan for each one of His children, and He says specifically in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." There’s only one way to weather life’s stormy seas and that is to make sure Jesus is in your boat. Remember that ships don’t sink because of the water around them, they sink because of the water that gets in them. Don’t allow all the trials and trouble that the devil throws at you to weigh you down and cause you to sink into an ocean of discouragement. It’s much better for you to go through turbulent storms with Jesus than to sail smooth seas without Him. Trust God to navigate through every stormy sea. Give Him your burdens, heartaches, and disappointments, and accept His gift of joy, for no matter what trial you are going through, Jesus is your answer. But He does want you to do your part, and that is to surrender and fully trust, obey, and follow Him. God’s not going to send you a text telling you to expect a package delivered to your door with everything you ever wanted inside. But He does want to give you the desires of your heart - as long as what you want is good for you! No matter what doubters may say, put your trust in God. Be like Noah who had to put up with ridicule for being obedient to God, but yet stayed faithful. Sometimes faith will make you look stupid . . . until it starts to rain. A Cheerful Giver
Many people today don’t really know what it means to “sacrifice.” They think they have sacrificed if they put a couple of dollars in the offering plate each week at church, or donated a stained and torn piece of clothing to the “poor.” The dictionary describes sacrifice as: “a loss or something you give up, usually for the sake of a better cause.” “Real sacrifice” is motivated by love and so the amount we are willing to give up is so much greater when given out of love. Parents who love their children sacrifice their time, not to mention countless hours of lost sleep. We sacrifice our time by helping someone in need. When our hearts are filled to overflowing with God’s love, our desire to sacrifice for others grows - as does our desire to sacrifice our offerings for the Lord’s work! Sacrifice isn’t just giving what you can afford - it’s “giving up something” so you can give more to God! And when you give - do so joyfully. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” And God rewards our faithfulness. In Malachi 3:8-11, God promises, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse . . . test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” Wow! What a promise! Put God to the test today and you will find - the more we give - the more God blesses! Text: Leviticus 27:30, Malachi 3:8-11, Matthew 23:23

I Never Knew You
There are Christians today who “work” for the Lord, but are not actually “walking” with the Lord. They are so busy doing all the things that they want to do for God that they don’t stop and ask, “Lord, what do you want me to do?” Some are so ensconced in their work that they forget all about who they are actually doing it for. Working for Christ can easily become a business that’s focused on self. Perhaps they love the praise received for being so faithful and good at what they do, which motivates them to do even more. Or they’re addicted to the power of holding a church office, one that has allowed them to do everything their way, or they love the respect and recognition they receive for being such godly leaders. Anytime ministry becomes all about you and not about God . . . you are no longer working for God–but for yourself! The Bible makes it very clear that our salvation depends on our obedience to God. Matthew 7:21-23 says, “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ ” It is critically important that we are doing what God wants us to do. If you are not getting your assignments from God, then He actually calls it “sin”! We could be passing out literature, feeding the homeless, or taking clothes to the poor, which are all good things to do, but unless God told us to do them, it is for nothing. In fact, on the day of judgment, He will say, “I never knew you!” It doesn’t get more serious than that! The only way to know what God wants you to do is to live a life with absolute devotion and dependence on Him. Pray for Holy Spirit guidance and He will lead, guide, and direct your every step! God never promised sunshine every day, but He does promise to be with us through every storm. 🙏🙏🙏
Me: God, can I ask You a question?
God: Sure
Me: Promise You won't get mad
God: I promise
Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?
God: What do u mean?
Me: Well, I woke up late
God: Yes
Me: My car took forever to start
God: Okay
Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait
God: Huummm
Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call
God: All right
Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?
God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that
Me (humbled): OH
GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.
Me: (ashamed)
God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work.
Me (embarrassed):Okay
God: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered.
Me (softly): I see God
God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.
Me: I'm Sorry God
God: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me.... in All things , the Good & the bad.
Me: I will trust You.
God: And don't doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan.
Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for Everything today.
God: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I Love looking after My Children...
Be grateful at all times ... He knows wha He is doing ♥️
