Good morning ☀️
I’ve been out of balance for the past week or so. Yesterday I found this lovely spot. Perfect for 10 minutes of meditation before work. Finally starting to feel like myself again.

Experimented with dinner tonight. Baked asparagus and fresh local tomato’s in garlic butter. Topped with mozzarella a few minutes before it was done. Served with an egg. Easy, healthy, and so delicious.

Craving a maple milkshake today. Instead of giving in to the not so healthy craving, I came up with a healthier version.
A lot of the not so good for you things can be made in a healthier way. You just have to be creative. Craving satisfied 😋

Asian pears 🍐 My new to me item of the week.

Baby back ribs and Japanese sweet potatoes.

Did you know Japanese sweet potatoes are a healthy source of fiber and starch? Rich in polyphenols and flavonoids. Also a good source of beta carotene, vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. They are also much sweeter than a traditional sweet potato 🍠
Worth trying them for sure!

Every week I purchase a healthy item I’ve never tried before. This week was locally grown Valor plums. So glad I did! Loving these delicious fruits. Did you know plums are a great source of Calcium, magnesium, potassium, folate, and vitamins C,A,K?

Here’s a challenge... next time you are in the grocery store purchase a new to you healthy item. You may end up finding something you love. ❤️

Hello beautiful souls. I’d like to share a little about myself and my “why” for being a Health Coach.

My name is Shannon. I’m 45 years young and a mom to 2 adult children and 1 teenager.

My life hasn’t been easy. I’ve overcome obstacles that most people would never have survived.

I became a teen mom left on my own to figure out how to survive. And I did just that. For almost 3 decades I lived in survival mode. My life became all about doing for others and putting my needs dead last. I kept telling myself it was ok and that I could live without. Oh how I was wrong. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

A failed marriage and then a relationship that ended horribly at the beginning of 2020 were the catalyst for things to change.

I decided enough was enough. I was sick of feeling broken, defeated, and unhealthy. I may have looked like the picture of health but I was far from it.

Once I started doing for me, things changed quickly. I started feeling better mentally and physically. Things no longer for me fell away and I finally was able to breath again.

Today I can honestly say I love myself. Something I’d never have thought I’d be able to say!

My focus now is living my best healthy life everyday. It’s my mission to be here for others to help guide and lovingly support them to do the same.
