Bogus!
With a heavy heart we announce this weekends planned show with & here at the pub has been cancelled. With newly imposed noise limits due to complaints by a couple of neighbours, we need to be even more considered with programming and output. The bands are working hard to find a replacement venue so bare with them.
Rest assured, we’re looking into every angle necessary through the appeal process. It’s an uphill battle given our location and the current blanket rules relating to background noise as comparable benchmarks (out here these practically none).
We know this place brings plenty of magic to our local community, especially with its diverse music program. Music is a binding force that brings people from all walks together. It doesn’t stop there either, from theatre productions to ‘Science in the Pub’ talks, this space holds relevance as a cultural hub for all.
For the cancelled show this week, we apologise unreservedly to the 11 musicians, 1 tour manager, 6 extra Eltham staff (bar, bistro and kitchen), 1 sound guy, 2 housekeepers and even the local air b’n’b spaces who will be without work or income this Saturday due to these new restrictions. Further afield decisions like this affect band management, booking agents and of course the ticketing company as well.
If you bought tickets to this Saturday’s show, look out for an email regarding relocation details. Rest assured from our end, there will be some shows continuing here the next while, but only the quieter ones.
Live music everywhere, particularly in regional areas is incredibly important and must be supported.
One week from today is the official kickoff of Fair Go 2023!!! We’re asking all visiting and local skaters + their friends and families to join us on Thursday March 30th to ring in the festivities. The Meet and Greet skate, dance, eat and drink session in the Ballina industrial estate starts at the Scaff Yard from 4-6 PM. We’ll then head around the block to the Roof Side and Truckstop sheds to jam the night away. Bring your appetites as will be slinging the eats. Live music from skate rockers and will be sure to get your feet a’stomping. We’re really pushing the emphasis on having as much fun as we possibly can this year so let’s get it off on the good foot y’all. Save the date, spread the word and can’t wait to see you all there🤘🤩🤘
