So good— we just had to share this one! What choices are you making that are no longer serving you?

08/01/2021

Group meditation can be a transformational experience,
but for many of us it’s not an option right now. Has your meditation practice changed in the past year? How are you transitioning to the new normal?

07/01/2021

The first rule of meditation is to find a comfortable seated position. What do you use to get comfortable?

06/01/2021

Even if we don’t manage this the first time, we will try, try and try again. Do you have a quote that is getting you through the week?

04/01/2021

Does anyone else interpret this as “fake it til make it?” What quote is getting you through this first week of January?

Would a green wall inspire you to meditate? The answer is definitely yes for us! But do you have to have it to get started? No! We love love looooove this space, but we’re gonna start small. With one plant to define our space. How do you create your own meditation space?

Oooh, this is a good one! What is your favorite quote to carry you into the new year?

When you imagine meditating, do you wish you had the perfect place for it? Don’t we all! But all we really need is the quiet within. Or at least the will to attempt it 😊

Do things just always seem to get in the way meditating? Try these 5 tips and let us know if they help you stop your "procrastination practice" 🤣 🙌🏽

1. Start early. If possible, schedule your meditation for first thing in the morning. Then it actually gets done, instead of being crowded right off your never-ending To Do list.

2. Keep it on the regular. In other words, same time and same place, every day. This will help you make it a habit!

3. Be flexible, especially when it comes to location. Yes, we're kinda contradicting #2, but sometimes being consistent is not an option. But, guess what? Mediation can be practiced anywhere. Even while walking. If your schedule is working against you, see it as an opportunity to be creative.

4. If sitting cross-legged isn't comfortable, don't do it! Find the meditation position that works best for you. Just try to avoid getting so comfy that you nod off.

5. Dial down your expectations. Your mind is probably not going to magically clear of all thoughts. Chances are you won't achieve a zen state if you're just getting the hang of meditating. But, after you try these 5 tips to get you going, stick with it, and you will start to enjoy a myriad of benefits.

What do you do to "clear the runway" for meditation?

Why is the sound of water so relaxing? It uses just one of our senses, yet the effect is profound.

Turns out, our minds connect it with soothing images stored in our memories. This can trigger a natural meditative state... very useful, for example, if you have been postponing your meditation session, and you're looking to get inspired!

Use these 5 ways to psyche up to meditate

1. Choose a regular time. If it works for you most of the time, it will increase your chances for success.
Keep it brief. One conscious breath is better than none. One minute is better than none.

2.Find a comfortable posture. Because being uncomfortable while meditating isn’t exactly going to encourage your desire to do it.

3.Choose a form you enjoy. Guided? Unguided? How about tai chi? When it feels right for you, you’ll do it over and over again.

4.Release expectations. Let go of those ego-driven goals. Instead, try bringing a "beginner's mind" to each practice.

5.Be open and curious about what will happen. Every time!

“Wherever you go, there you are.”
— Jon Kabat-Zinn

We have sooo many favorite meditation quotes! This one’s perfect for a moment of mindfulness, to focus on the fleeting beauty of fall foliage.

Jon Kabat-Zinn is the founder of the Center for Mindfulness at the Medical School, where he developed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program, or MBSR.

Do you use quotes or phrases to help you meditate?

Do you struggle to meditate?

When we start meditating, something has to stop. Our ego resists anything that means it won’t be the center of attention for a while. As soon as we make the decision to meditate, and decide to step away from the ego-driven mind, our practice can begin.

Just one thing. How do we get over this hurdle and just do the damn thing?

Yes, we just quoted the Bachelorette! Because... meditation doesn’t have to be so serious!
