The dainty skull necklace is hand carved from water buffalo bone and fastened to a black leather cord.

The beautiful skulls I use are from Bali Indonesia and hand carved from water buffalo bones and horn.
The Balinese water buffalo usually die from natural causes as they are well treated and important to the survival of the native people. Additional bone is sourced from other islands (usually Sumatra) where these animals may also be used as a food source.
