ππΏππΌ Spotlight on Nettle ππΌπΏπ which has been used since time immemorial to treat arthritis and is part of my complex herbal tincture prescription targeted at osteoarthritis.π¦΄π¦΅πΌβπΌπ¦ΆπΌ
It has even been found that taking nettle leaf tea and extracts alongside nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) helps people to reduce their NSAID dose.

Nettle tea recipe
1 cup of nettles
4 cups of water
Find some nettles and cut of the leaves with as little stem as possible (the older looking nettles are sweeter). Fill up a cup full and wash them thoroughly in warm water. Put the nettles in a large saucepan with 4 cups of water.
Put the pan on the hob and bring to the boil, then simmer for 15 minutes.

πChia Pudding Recipe π
Great breakfast for vegans as chia seeds are high in plant Omega 3 and protein as well as being high in fibre. The combination of fat, protein and fibre means the seeds are digested relatively slowly, providing long, slow release of energy to keep blood-sugar levels stable.ππΌ
Soak a cup of Chia seeds overnight in oat milk. Add blueberries, flaked almonds and a sprinkle of coconut palm sugar. Heavenly πΌ

This amazing Ayuvedic herb whose name refers to the virility of a stallion π²π has a multitude of benefits in particular for Vata disorders such as anxiety, insomnia, inflammatory joint disease, poor immunity, low s*x drive, exhaustion and low weight. π±
In the UK it's usually prescribed as either a capsule of the ground herb or in tincture form, and can be used to alleviate both acute and chronic conditions. π±
Although it has very few side effects and is suitable for children and adults of both s*xes, it is important that you work with an Ayurvedic consultant to determine whether Ashwagandha is right for you and what dose to take. π±

It is a πΊtridoshic πΊposture: the backbend benefits kapha π¦ abdominal massage benefits pitta π₯and the work on the knee and shoulder joints benefits Vata π¬οΈ It even cures flat feet! π£

Really enjoying researching my next workshop, Yoga and Ayurvedic Cleanse. It will explore poses such as this, Marichyasana 2, dedicated to the Sage Marichi who's name means 'ray of light'. This asana calms the mind, extends the spine and gives the internal organs a healthy squeeze.
