Diary of an Engineer
Diary of an Engineer is a blog about what it means to be a woman in engineering in the 21st century.
What's really on the ballot this year? This week's blog post is, and I apologize, a little bit political. One of my favorite quotes is, "Personal is political." What matters to you in life? What has a great effect on you? Those things are political, whether you realize it or not. In this week's blog post, I talk about the upcoming election and how there's so much more to it than just voting for a person. https://theengineer.carrd.co/

The Oceans Need Your Help I came across a video by 4Ocean celebrating their 10 millionth pound of litter pulled from the oceans. I thought about how insane this was,
Ever wondered what civil engineers do? Find out here!
What is a Civil Engineer? when I announced I was going to major in civil engineering, I always got the question, “What is a civil engineer?”
This week's topic is green roofs. In short, they are gardens on a roof that help combat climate change. Green infrastructure is something that I'm really passionate about. Check out my blog post to learn more!
What is a Green Roof? More intriguing, however, is that green roofs are used to combat the Urban Heat Island Effect. A heat island occurs in urban areas...

Check out the tallest circular building in the world! This is amazing. I cannot imagine working on a project like this. They say an architect's wildest dream is an engineer's worst nightmare...

10 Things About Me Before we get deeper into the anatomy of my blog, I wanted to introduce myself to you all more informally than my introduction post. I think it's important so we can establish a healthy relationship here at Diary of an Engineer. So, here are the Top Ten Things I want my readers to know about me! 1.....
I've recently connected with a diverse group of young women in STEM fields all around the country, from NASA to Raytheon to small engineering firms. They introduced me to the term "STEMINIST," which is a person who advocated for the equality of women and minorities in STEM. I quickly became as passionate about the movement as they were and I decided to take this spare wall tile and personalize it with vinyl. It will look great on my desk!
My blog is not a political blog at all, however, the USA celebrated its Independence Day and it just didn't feel right. That is why I chose to scrap that simplistic blog post I had scheduled this week and talk about something more meaningful. I hope you can understand. Thank you for reading!
What Independence Day Means in 2020 Don't get me wrong - my blog is not a political blog at all. Here, I share my thoughts and experiences about being a woman engineer...
Hello Readers! Welcome to my blog called "Diary of an Engineer." Here I will be writing about my experiences as a woman of color in engineering and in this crazy yet wonderful world in which we live. Here is my first post: An Introduction.
