Neenah Speech & Debate

Neenah Speech and Debate brought the biggest lineup in our team's recent history to the NCFL Grand Nationals tournament this year! 10 students across 4 categories competed in Chicago this past weekend.

In LD, Aidan octofinaled, placing 11th out of almost 200 other competitors!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥He also won 13 out of 15 judge ballots in prelims, the highest number of ballots won by a debater this tournament. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Sarah Hoffman and Caroline Hodges also competed in LD.

Nina, Drew, Kale, and Harry competed in Congressional Debate, Elise and Fiona competed in Duo Interp, and Meghan competed in Extemp! Notably, this was the first NCFLs trip in many years where we brought multiple speech competitors.

Our team will now prepare for NSDA Nationals in June as we wrap up the 23-24 Speech and Debate season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🔛🔝🔥💬

A few people from our team competed in the spectacular, infamous, world-renowned, epic, stunning, fantastic, incredible, sensational, legendary ASYNC SPRING SPECTACULAR forensics tournament! We had lots of success and also Kale DFL'd his category!!!!!!!!!!

Fiona, Elise, and Meghan all did extremely well in their categories, but Kale did not. 😹😹😹

We finished the WFCA season with a strong showing at the State Congress and Forensics Tournaments! Although most of the team was on vacation for spring break, 5 Congressional debaters and 8 students from our Forensics team competed this weekend!

At the Wisconsin state capitol, Nina, Kale, Andrew, Sarah, and Harry competed in Congress. Nina took home the 5th Place award, placing higher than over 35 other competitors! 🎉🎉🎉

In Sun Prairie, Elise, Kale, Aidan, Andrew, Finn, Sarah, Nina, and Ella competed in 6 different categories across the entire group! Elise and Kale both took 2nd Place in their categories (Radio and Spec Oc, respectively), and Aidan and Andrew were semifinalists in their categories (Radio and Impromptu, respectively)! 🎉🎉🎉

Let's extend a special thank you to our Congress and Forensics coaches, Mrs. PL and Ms. Sasser, for their hard work and dedication over the course of this entire season. Without them, our team wouldn't be where it is today. Thank you to our wonderful coaches!! ❤️

NSD is hosting their first ever public event! A student-run showcase of our talents and passions. We hope to see you at the new neenah high school for this event!

We have been waiting announce this project since this summer! ❤️ We will be host a team showcase in order to fundraise for our team! Events such as LS, PF, Interp, Congress, Speech, and more will be showcase. Funds go directly to our team to help pay for competitions. Mark your calendars!

Day One of is complete! We'll be back bright an early tomorrow for Day Two and the first sets of breaks!

After a morning meet up with Scott Wunn this morning, Neenah Speech & Debate got the FIRST of the 2023 Tournament!

And now we wait! Parker made it to the finals session in congress, and the awards ceremony is in 35 minutes!!

Congrats to all of our kids on their performance this weekend. We are thrilled with how they all stuck to it and gave the competition their best shot.

Hey , we can’t believe this weekend will be one of our final tournaments with you. Over the course of these past 3 years, you have left you mark on our team in so many amazing ways; truly making it what it is today. You will be missed more than you know, and we can’t imagine being on this team without you. Our students have worked tirelessly throughout the year for this opportunity and we are so proud that they will be able to attend. However, with a trip like this comes costs that are not accessible to all of our team members. Students will be paying $300 out of pocket, so we need your help to lower this number.
