On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2023, a cancer awareness camp was conducted at C-DIT from 8th March 2023 to 14th March 2023. The camp was organized by the CDIT Deputy Director, based on International Women’s Day for creating awareness of cancer among the female staff employed at the CDIT office at Trivandrum. The participants of the camp were the female staff of the C-DIT office. The awareness talk was delivered by our oncology specialist consultants Dr. Ganesh Kumar Nair(Clinical Oncologist) & Dr. Anila Tresa (Gynec Oncologist). Following this PAP Smear Test and Painless Breast Cancer Screening were done for three days. Dr. Vasundhara (Gynec Oncologist) was also a part of the camp and carried out the PAP Smear Test for the staff on the second day of the camp.

SYMPTOMS OF childhood cancer
* Continued, unexplained weight loss
* Headaches, often with early morning vomiting
* Increased swelling or persistent pain in the bones, joints, back, or legs

A risk factor is anything that increases the chances of getting a disease such as cancer. Childhood cancers do not have a known cause. Many studies have shown how any changes or mutation in the DNA inside our cells can contribute to the production of cancer cells.
