Mindset (Part 2)
__How will we get back to work?

One of the big challenges that we all face, if we run a business or work at a company is: “How do we get back to a safe working environment in which we are not infecting our colleagues or getting infected ourselves?”

Imagine, if you travel to work by bus, train or taxi, or you work in an open plan office or school: how do you avoid being infected, if you have never been infected before?

This is hard, but we have to be thinking about it, right now.

are entrepreneurs!

In our organization we have almost 10,000 people who work directly or indirectly for us. Over the last few weeks we have been discussing this question. The other day, I listened to a group of our executives organizing the redesign of our work spaces:

“Can we allow people to eat at a canteen?” someone asked. After discussion they agreed to keep all canteens closed.

When we return to work outside of our homes, after the lockdowns, we have to find ways to travel, work and play safely in a -COVID-19 world. It is not going to be easy!

One of the things we can do is also to develop which will help us fight the spread of the virus, as well as help us work more safely.

At our digital company Sasai Global they have been developing a product on Sasai Explore called, the “Health Status Report”. It is going to be an absolute game changer.

It will help you go back to work, whilst feeling safer to meet with friends and colleagues.

We plan to roll it out in about 3 weeks. I will alert you when it is done.

We also have to come up with ways to get the world’s 1,5bn+ children back into school or in any case, learning via online or other technologies, if possible.

A few days ago, we launched a new online to get a better understanding of the ICT & School learning situation on the ground across Africa during the COVID-19 crisis.

Getting our learners , without delay, is a top priority. Here’s the link for you to fill out the survey if you are a parent, teacher, or adult involved directly in education in a school: https://ushahidi.covid-19.ke/posts/create/13

Share with others, too. Let’s stay on doing what we can do, right where we are.

Whilst most of us don’t have the background to develop a vaccine for COVID-19, most of you here have now developed an mindset. This future-focused will be urgently required to get our businesses open again, as soon as we can all work to create a safer work environment.

If you have not been how you will work, you should start right away!

Let’s talk.

To be continued. . .
