What does police accountability mean to you?
Have you tried petioning your police department for a redress of grievances on their policies or are you just protesting?
Police must be accountable to increasing public safety as well as protecting citizen rights.
It’s a broken record. We’ve all heard it on police accountability but how do we really develop it?
The police are first and foremost here to protect and defend the constitution. Who cares what the courts say, that’s the oath. Things just get blurry when you walk and see the two sides of the thin blue line. Like and Share if you agree!
We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day. Now that we’ve taken pause for our fallen military let’s also take some time to remember our fallen officers who died protecting your freedom. They’re also our men and women in uniform but of course we give pause to military first because they take such a great risk compared to our officers. They make sure law enforcement don’t have to deal with the awfulness that happens in war. Thank God for all our men and women in uniform.
You can’t have accountable police if you don’t have any.
We encourage citizens to video police doing their jobs. Know this though if an officer asks for your info you need to provide it. Your video is evidence in whatever case they have just initiated and you are liable for it. You need to make sure to provide that evidence to the police department as quickly as possible as part of that case. If you destroy it before the police receive it and the courts request it you are liable for destruction of evidence.
A deputy sheriff from San Antonio brought up an idea for technology that would make police able to identify people more efficiently. Handprint scanning in a portable device which works quickly with the database. He brought up as a concern on the common need to identify homeless causing problems without IDs. This would need to be developed but investing in good technologies is vital to making sure police can do their jobs more efficiently and respectably. Making sure new technologies to help police do their jobs efficiently, safely, and transparently is a key goal of Police for Police Accountability.
If you or anyone you know is in law enforcement we'd to have them. Our goal is to improve the condition for those on each side of the blue line. More Liberty and Cheaper protection for civilians. Safer, more effective, and easily doing their job for Police. We'll protect cops from witch hunts cause no one likes a lynching, and make sure citizens feel better Served and Protected. It all starts with talking and inviting people so join the page and then the group. Then maybe we can have a conversation and end the Civil War we are in.
