Tenor John Tiranno Steps in as Tenor for this Weekend's Messiah!
We hope you are joining us this weekend for our annual performance of Handel's Messiah at the beautiful Lensic! There has been a last minute change ... Tenor John Tiranno will replace Joshua Dennis who sadly tested positive for COVID today, necessitating his withdrawal as tenor. Members of The Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, as well as guest artists, follow strict COVID testing during Santa Fe Symphony rehearsal weeks and in advance of the performances. It is this diligent testing that revealed Dennis' results today and we wish him a healthy and speedy recovery.
Tenor John Tiranno will be joining soprano Devon Guthrie, mezzo-soprano Daryl Freedman; baritone Joseph Beutel, and the full Symphony Orchestra & Chorus under the baton of Maestro Guillermo Figueroa, with choral direction by Carmen Flórez-Mansi. This incredibly talented tenor has joined us on stage for a number of performances in past seasons and we are exciting for his return not only this weekend but as our guest tenor in February 2023 for O'Romeo, Romeo—a tribute to Valentine’s Day with one of Hector Berlioz’ finest and most original works, Roméo et Juliette. This outstanding symphonie dramatique celebrates Maestro Guillermo Figueroa’s 70th birthday and seventh incredible season with The Santa Fe Symphony.
I am thrilled to be joining the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus this weekend as tenor soloist for their annual Handel's Messiah performances! Joining so many good friends and colleagues is going to be very special. Please join us if you can!
Seats are still available for Handel's Messiah and they've got YOUR name on them! Use promo code "SHEPHERDS" at checkout and receive 50% off your tickets for Saturday's performance only. Get ready to kick off the holiday season with your Santa Fe Symphony. https://santafesymphony.org/event/messiah2022/
