with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT) 501 fly F-35B Lightning II fighter jets for a training evolution.
VMFAT-501 deployed to NAS JRB New Orleans to increase entry-level pilots' proficiency in offensive-air support, electronic warfare, and routine flight operations for their future fleet assignments.

The 47th Marine Corps Marathon was held Oct. 30. Participants included men and women from all over the United States and countries around the world.
The race drew roughly 20,000 participants, more than 2,200 and Sailors, and 1,500 civilian volunteers.
The is the largest marathon in the world that doesn’t offer prize money. Instead, it focuses on strengthening community spirit, promoting good health and showing support for veterans, earning its nickname, “The People’s Marathon.”

USMC Birthday Moto Run

The Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. David H. Berger and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Troy E. Black lead in a motivational run in honor of the Marine Corps' 247th birthday.
Each year, Marines come together to celebrate our birthday with ceremonies that recall the history of the Corps and enhance the camaraderie shared across generations of Marines.
