🌊 report on the connection between the project identified challenges and the S3 strategies and NRP national plans!

MedBAN has developed a report linking the project’s identified challenges to the Smart Specialisation Strategies (3S) and National Resilience Plans (NRP) of each of the countries and regions represented in the consortium ( , , , and ).

This document follows on the work developed in the Mapping of the ecosystem published in February 2023. It aims to highlight the coherence between the sixteen MedBAN challenges identified in the mapping (3/4 challenges per each sector - , , , and ) and the national/regional policies and funding instruments of each partner country.

We are thrilled to announce the preliminary data about our two open calls - one focused on innovation, training, and business transformation, and the other focused on internationalisation actions!👏

A total of 58 applications from 48 SMEs from 8 different countries were selected for funding. The selected proposals are centred around adapting processes and technologies to create a greener, more digital, and resilient blue economy. In the past month, MedBAN organised training for the cluster managers of our consortium ✍️

These two sessions were developed considering the most important challenges faced by the MedBAN clusters when implementing actions towards a more resilient and innovative Blue Economy in the Single Market! They are now more prepared to navigate the actions towards the twin transformation of the Mediterranean blue economy! ⛵

With a full house eager to hear more about innovation, Gregory stated the potential of MedBAN in helping SMEs to reach their full potential (e.g. in terms of innovation)

🔹 EU Clusters Talks: Keeping up with the Euroclusters: Achievements and lessons learned

Fórum Oceano - MedBAN's coordinator, was invited to the EU Cluster Talks to discuss together with EISMEA, Minalogic, Fondazione Piemonte Innova, Creathriv-Eu Eurocluster and CircInWater Eurocluster about the challenges, collaborations, and efforts made by the Euroclusters in managing their projects, designing and implementing the cascading calls, and facilitating application processes for SMEs. This wonderful event enabled us to share the preliminary results of the project, namely the number of applications we received.

Our two open calls have already been closed, but we haven't thanked you yet! 🤝

We are one step closer to the adoption of greener and digitalised processes by EU blue economy SMEs - we have impacted 88 entities from 14 countries! Pretty impressive, right?

In total, 100 applications were submitted, which means that SMEs are finally ready to change and invest in renewing processes! Stay tuned because in one month we will announce the list of companies financial-supported by the MedBAN!

Green and Blue Innovation and new technologies were some of the topics discussed in the eighth edition of SEAFUTURE, an important event that took place from June 5-8, in La Spezia – Italy! MedBAN, of course, could not miss this event! 💥
