Happy Nursing Week!💕
Throwback to my baby nursing days as a student. This photo was taken in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 where we got the amazing opportunity to do our paediatric & family care placement. What a dream come true🥰
This photo was after a long clinic day at a community centre where they offered medical care / service once a month. Locals came from various areas to be seen in this one clinic day.

This experience was so eye opening as to what healthcare is like in various different places in the world. And how lucky and privileged I was to have the access I had in Canada.
This experiment had me thinking about my family back home in South Sudan & the limited access / resources they have when it come to health care. All I wanted to do after was go back home to work as a nurse in my local village Mayom.
This is still very much the dream today , and I can’t wait for the day I can do this 🏥

Nursing differences:
✨When I first moved to the UK, a doctor asked me “do you bleed?” I replied do I bleed? Of course I do😂
not realising he was asking me if I know how to take blood 🩸. I’d never heard the phrase before “do you bleed”🤣
✨Bleeding patient’s is a a nice easy skill nurses can do, while in the UK this is a skill which requires you to have additional training and to be signed off.
✨So international nurse, don’t lose this simple skill, get signed off, and continue to practice this skill when possible🙈
So the next time you are asked do you bleed, you can say with confidence, yes I bleed🩸 🤣

* Photo Dump* Weekend away🙈
The past couple weeks I’ve been feeling super tired and sleepy. Even at work people were noticing I wasn’t my normal bubbly self.
✨ taking my iron supplements daily along this relaxation holiday has definitely helped boosted my energy.
