He's absolutely wonderful, I really recommend following him. I've learnt so much from him, he's incredibly wise, insightful and generous with his knowledge.
I also recommend his novel, which I have just started. Already the writing is honestly breathtaking. It's visceral but tender at the same time. Relatively modern but pre 2007 (I think prob 80s or 90s but that isn't definite)
Features a part with a character doing a meditation technique called 'counting his bones' where he pictures the bones in his body. I *think* this leads to some higher consciousness type state but might not lol
Features a storyline with a mum raising her son in secret and her starting to feel attracted to him as he becomes an adult and realising this is cos she's so isolated from other people and I think she then rejoins society
Not definitely true, as I may be mixing up books:
I think the characters are connected in some way they don't know, possibly supernatural
I think the cover had playing cards, neon, possibly skulls, snakes etc but was anyway quite unusual and edgy looking
I think it was fairly long
Pretty sure it was a stand alone book not a series
I thought the author might be called Jim but then I also thought he might have had initials or a nickname, but this is especially uncertain.

My first commission piece of embroidery, the customer's cats!
I am now accepting commissions, this one is approx 15cm fully covered and took around 7.5 hours. Obviously smaller and less filled ones will be quicker. They will be charged at £10/ hour but I accept less from low income people. I'm also very open to exchanges. This was done for a clothes maker and in exchange J sent her a duvet to make me dungarees. Also open to other exchanges! Probably not jewellery or visual art as I have far too much but comment or message me with any suggestions or questions or to commission :)

Not a painting but I hope you don't mind me sharing the latest thing I did.
I've never done an embroidery before. I'm not an especially great sewer and I have issues with my joints which makes it hard but I thought I'd have a go.
I just made it up, drew the design on, added to it as I went. I don't know what stitches I used lol.
So here we go:

Something very different for me! I've been working on drawing and decided to draw 2 snooker players. I went for Ronnie O'sullivan and Mark Selby.
Mark Selby I just really like. He seems less constructed than many people, a bit more genuine. He's withdrawn but it seems like that's him being anxious, not trying to be perfect in what he says. I don't always enjoy watching him play mostly because I have ADHD and poor focus isn't great for longer matches. But I think he has a grace and beauty when he plays.
Ronnie O'Sullivan I'm more conflicted about. I identify with him a lot. I thought he'd said he had bipolar and ADHD at some point but that might be me projecting, as I do and the way he is feels familiar. I identify with having times where everything seems to just flow easily, I pick things up fast and do everything uniquely as does he (tho obvs I'm nowhere near as good at snooker 😂) and then have tomes where everything comes crashing down. I identify with not saying the right things, not being able to play social games.
But he can really be an ar****le so that's less good! Watching him play is magic though. I know snooker isn't a big trendy q***r favourite but it is a very traditional working class favourite and I dip in and out. I've included photos of them for those who don't know them.
