I'm really excited to share with you a little film that documents the early stages of my songwriting, jam sessions, and collaborations of ... 3 years ago, I moved into a small house in the middle sugar cane field in New Iberia, La with just my engineers and to finish all of the lyrics as well as structure and produce the jam sessions that have now become the songs on the album. See the video in full which also follows me to Long Island, and New Orleans where I worked with an array of incredible collaborators on the project. (Link in bio)

Be more comfortable in your identity!
Timing. I wrote "Cranes in The Sky" 8 years ago.
It was 8 years ago handed me a cd with a few instrumentals. One was just drums, strings, and bass. I went home and wrote "Cranes" that night in my hotel room.
When I finished writing and creating in a little house in New Iberia, Louisiana.....I revisited "Cranes" once again. I called Raphael that night and asked if he would help me to elevate the production of the album to see its fullest potential. I am so happy 8 years later Cranes is out in the world.

There’s a secret language shared among 'brown girls' who are destined to climb mountains and cross rivers in a world that tells us to belong to the valleys that surround us.
You learn it very young, and although it has no words, you hear it clearly. You sense it when you walk into rooms with your hair in full bloom, each coil glorious, your sway swift and your stance proud. You feel it like a rhythm you can’t shake if you even dared to quiet the sounds around you.
As a 'brown girl' you grow up internalizing all these messages that say you shouldn’t accept your hair or your skin tone or your natural features, or that you shouldn’t have a voice, or that you aren’t smart.
As Anathoth we feel like the only way to fight that is to just be yourself on the most genuine level and to connect with other 'brown girls' who are awakening and realizing that they’ve been trying to conform.
So here we are, connecting as two nonconforming brown girls. Connecting as two trailblazers who recognize the borders that have been built around us as we steadily tear them down, dancing through life while coloring outside every line. Connecting as two lovers of music, art, and fashion. Connecting as two chicks who are over talking about our hair — although we know it’s badass! Connecting as two descendants of powerful queens who made the journey before us and whom we hold in the highest regard.
We are ready to take on the world — sprinkling brown girl magic in every crevice of the universe.

We, as black people, have historically not been presented as regal beings in society. We feel like it's time we should all expressed our regalness.

Like Solange we wanted it to make people feel empowered and [that] in the midst of all of this we can still dream, and uplift, and laugh like we always have.
Love to all the majestic ones in the video (link in the bio:)
