Photos from visualsbyajp's post 27/01/2020

These are photographs I feel like I’ve had for a long time now, I kept these hidden away since I got them in summer, away from social media or even on my phone until now. The story behind these images is that I was shooting Acacia & Aaliyah for BST Festival (originally not realising it was a massive festival, and thinking I was just going to a small show) until I arrived and realised, and was handed almost every wristband under the sun, BUT the main stage pass... and was the headliner. But I knew that he had his own photo guy, and nobody else was meant to have a pass for the stage. Eventually the day went on and it was time for him to perform. The night went on and towards sunset, me and a friend were walking through backstage, and as we are walking past the security entrance, he turns to me and goes “I wonder what’ll happen if we just try walk in” obviously joking and thinking there’s no chance, but why not right... So we walk up to go in, and of course we get stopped, he gets turned away first and turns back around, but then he checks my wrist, and gives me the nod... because I had every other wristband under the sun and I guess the guy just didn’t know what pass was which. And he let me through. Full of adrenaline, I couldn’t turn back and I walk up the ramp to the side of the stage with my little camera in hand. I knew I wasn’t meant to be there, I felt guilty, but I knew I had to remember this forever, but I also knew that this memory was more important than just a photo. So I just stood there for a while, in awe, watching Robbie on stage in front of the tens of thousands, being a fu***ng rockstar. Standing in the shadows behind the rigging of the main stage, completely bewildered, I snapped two photos. Two photos I will remember forever. It took me a long time to post these, because I felt I had done something wrong, and I felt like I had to edit my thoughts. But a good friend showed him the images, and apparently he said they were dope and seemingly deemed it Okay for me to post. So here they are. My favourite photographs, and an amazing story to go with it. This is why I love this. [📸: ] @ London, United Kingdom
