Bakra is a male cat with a darker smoky coat, who for some reason thinks that some unseen danger may be lurking at any moment. So he's ready to freak out if he gets a little reason to do so. On the other hand, shelter life is not the most suitable for a cat to feel like a cat. The front of the nose is guaranteed, but your private space could be bigger and strange cats further away. Through countless examples, it has become clear that only a cat like Bakra may find a real home, when day by day the anxiety starts to subside, until finally there is a completely sociable cat with a dark coat, who is not bothered by anything except the food bowl and the opportunity to kill the day in the arms of the family .
During her stay at the shelter, Bakra has made great strides in learning to trust humans. It takes him a moment to be sure of the new person's good intentions, and after that he gladly accepts any caresses that are offered to him. Bakra also shows a great interest in establishing contact with a person, and his favorite activity is definitely playing.
Bakra has spent a few months in a foster home, and during that time, the initially rather scared kitty has become a friendly and trusting companion. Bakra is curious and prone to playing, he likes long caresses, he gladly allows himself to be held in his arms. He also runs around with joy and comes to see with interest when guests arrive. People's food does not interest him in the slightest, he is not worried about stealing food from the plate or dining table.
Unfortunately, she will not be able to stay in the foster home for a long time, but living in a shelter does not suit Bakra at all. 🌟 THE STAR OF THIS WEEK IS NAPOLEON FROM PÄRNU SHELTER🌟

Napoleon is a young male cat lord who was shy at first, but now that he is in a foster home, he has become more and more courageous towards people. The cat likes to bask in the sun and sleep on the windowsill. Also likes to run around and play, especially likes to play with the bell on the stick and the fish.

When it's mealtime, he rubs his legs and purrs. Sometimes he runs after rubbing his legs so that it is impossible to walk. When you put your dishes down and walk by, you mostly don't run away anymore, but rather eat calmly. Even guests and strangers have shown themselves and sniffed their hands. The young gentleman named Napoleon, the French commander, is also quite a talkative cat who likes to hold longer conversations.

Napoleon is currently in a foster home, where he has become much braver and more social. Ats will soon be one year old, and for about a third of his life so far he has been waiting for his people and dreaming of his own home. He is a likable, medium-sized striped dog with a keen eye and alert ears, catching everything on the fly.
Ats is a bit timid by nature, but at the same time extremely curious. Everything new offers him great interest and challenges and makes him act. In addition to treats, he is a special sweet tooth who likes to rebel and play.
Atsil gets along very well with other cats, he is friendly and sociable and peaceful. Some days, Ats is so peaceful that he is like a good lazy sausage who can spend most of the day lounging in the sun on his nest and enjoying his life. Being alone, of course, he secretly dreams of what it would be like if one day someone came and found him company.

Kaira was surrendered because her master passed away and she had no one left to take care of her. She lived with a dog in his previous home, so she is also friendly with dogs, but other cats are not her favorite. She would like to be the only purr in the family, because she does not want to share the caresses of her loved one
Despite the loss of her master, she is very optimistic and knows that one day she will have someone to take her home with him again. Kaira is a friendly and loving cat. She really likes to be in human company. She just circles around you, and if you sit down next to her, she will snuggle as close as possible to you and cuddle.

🌟 THE STAR OF THIS WEEK IS KREISY FROM VILJANDI SHELTER 🌟

🔆Kreisy arrived at the shelter from an abandoned farm from where his previous owner has moved away, although he could just as well have appeared underground, such is his otherworldly state. When he arrived at the shelter, he had an injury to his left eye that left his eyeball scarred so that he could no longer see. Since it was not known whether the injured, useless eye could still be causing chronic pain, it had to be removed. On the same side as the eye injury, Kreisy has an air rifle bullet behind his chin.

🔆When he arrived at the shelter, he initially did not interact with any of the staff for several weeks, apart from hissing. One day Kreisy started talking in addition to hissing. Kreisy is such a chatty cat who likes to have a conversation with a person and participate in the conversation with a very expressive face. He answers questions and if he wants something, he knows how to ask for it himself. Although initially cautious, Kreisy can be extremely friendly, even pushy, with trusted people. When Kreisy decides to climb or push on your lap, it's almost impossible to push him away, and he purrs so loudly himself that he probably doesn't hear anything being said to him.

🔆Despite being one-eyed, Kreisy has flawless coordination and spatial awareness, and never fails a jump or grab. And he is always on the alert like a wild animal.

🔆Kreisy goes well with cats who are not easily offended and who are not very afraid of other cats. He doesn't mind when more timid cats ask him to stay away or not approach them. Once he's decided to lay down on the couch, he just does it, whether the other cat protests or not. In this way, he seems rather scary to introverted cats. He is great with extroverted and optimistic cats, such as younger cats.

Many arrived in our care at the end of last year with her two sons. In addition, she was already pregnant again and gave birth to 11 more puppies in January. Many was a diligent and efficient dog mother and raised her pups well. Her puppies have all found good homes, now it's time for Many.

It is a very friendly and energetic young dog. From time to time she gets angry with Bruno, her neighbor in the next garden, but generally the other dogs and cats leave her cold. Most of all, Many loves sweets and long walks. She tends to squirm a bit on the leash as the world is so exciting to Many and she wants to sniff all the ditches and tree stands. Many is also a good watchdog and barks in an exemplary manner when a stranger has entered the territory.

🌟 THE STAR OF THIS WEEK IS SASSU FROM TALLINN SHELTER 🌟

Sassu is a rough cat, whose body and curiosity are equally large. Since he is very sociable and friendly, he is sometimes allowed to explore the clinic premises on his own. Usually, Sassu gets bored quickly and then looks for someone to be by his side. Because only with a person are things in place in his world. But he can frog in the clinic rooms because Sassu has diabetes. About 0.4% of his day is spent checking blood sugar and injecting insulin. Compared to the length of the whole day, it is only an imperceptible lead. Sassu doesn't let it bother him for a long time and continues to be a cool character who only gets really excited when he can hope for the food bowl to be filled or, if he's really lucky, to move into his own home. Sassu has been ready for this for a long time.

Harletta has probably never been outside, so she doesn't want to go there either. Having lived together, kambakes get along nicely and politely with other cats.
Although Harletta is about two years old, she looks much younger. She will not grow any bigger, so the new home does not have to offer a very large space. She would just like to curl up in a small ball and sleep somewhere, or nimbly chase toys around the room.

One kitty can get quite a lot of paws in a very short time. Härma was fearful and did not allow herself to be lured into the room, because adaptation and trust in people do not come overnight.
🐾 We have had frost for a while and have gradually adapted to our environment and people. We are taking a quiet step in the direction that she learns to trust people and to enjoy life, to enjoy the warmth and care of home. 🔹The super friendly male striper loves to interact with people and enjoys being petted and scratched. He is always the first to greet the newcomer. Peedu's open nature and carefree mind make him a pleasant companion, with whom you will never get bored. He is also very curious.
🔹Peedu is a good companion for many jobs, willingly helps with cleaning, for example, and when the cleaning equipment cabinet is opened, it goes and inspects it from the inside.
🔹Peedu gets along well with other cats. He is a completely problem-free, open, friendly, polite and considerate cat. For a friendly and kind person, Peedu offers a friendly and kind company and shows, among other things, how to linger coolly and carefree and enjoy life.

➡️Vurru is a really gorgeous looking friendly cat lady with her long whiskers.
She is hospitable and curious and always rushes to the door first when someone is coming. Really enjoys human attention and loves cuddles.
➡️Vurru is quite dominant towards other cats, because probably only she knows what is right. Also tends to let people know when they're about to hit their pay limit. Sometimes she also looks for attention and a partner in this way.
Although Vurru-preili is still a young cat, about 2 and a half years old, she has been waiting for half a year in the shelter for her own home and her own person who would really understand her and take care of her.

✨ OUR VOLUNTEERS ✨

💕 Today we introduce you to Agnes, who has decided to help animals from Varjupaikade MTÜ as a volunteer. Agnes is a resourceful young person who is an animal lover through and through and therefore finds time amidst her busy schedule to help homeless animals. She has contributed both by physically visiting the shelter and by posting about shelter animals on social media. Lately, she has been more involved in social media activities, helping many animals find new homes. The active volunteer will tell us more about why she decided to help animals.

🟠 What kind of activities can you do as a volunteer?
I started as a volunteer by physically going to the shelter - walking and playing with dogs and trying to make friends with some of the shyer dogs. I also spent time with cats, being in the cat room was always a stress-relieving place for me and I enjoyed that time wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, life got in the way, and my visits to the shelter became less frequent. The Valga shelter was also a bit far from my former residence, so getting there was time-consuming and difficult. However, I was also offered the opportunity to help these wonderful animals from home by creating posts for the shelter's social media and I have been doing that for some time now. I have since moved to Central Estonia and I can now help from afar and make posts from a place and time that suits me.

🟠 What motivates you to help animals?
I am a country girl, so animals have always been close to my heart. There has never been a time in my life when I haven't had a pet. I have always been surrounded by cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, and other farm animals. The special desire to help shelter animals came when I adopted a cat from the Valga shelter, who blended into our family wonderfully. While visiting her in the cat room I learned more about becoming a volunteer.

🟠 Would you recommend others to become volunteers, too?
Of course I would recommend it! It's a wonderful way to take a break from everyday life and support the welfare of homeless animals. 🖐 Greetings from the first week of spring come today from a wonderfully happy young cat in his new home.

😇 “I wanted to thank the Viljandi shelter for this lovely gentleman! On the first day he already started snuggling, eating well and using his litter box.

He seeks closeness very much and is a deligthful lap cat and a friend. It’s evident that he enjoys his new home and the attention and endless cuddles immensely.

🌟 THE STAR OF THIS WEEK IS VÄLK FROM THE VÕRU SHELTER🌟

🐕 Välk, who comes from Mulgimaa, reached the shelter through quite complicated and winding roads, but he has been resigned to his fate and has not lost his friendly and playful nature.

🕶️ Välk is a man in his best years and in the best shape, attentive and active. He is a good watchman, because if someone comes behind our gate, he immediately signals it. He loves to play and shares his toys with his friend in the next box. Sometimes we find Välk’s things in the neighbor dog's crate and vice versa. He enjoys walks and he also likes playing in the playpen very much.

🎶 Some commands are very clear to him, and of course treats are especially motivating for him. Välk keeps clean, is calm and polite to people and cooperative when alone. Välk's voice may seem a little evil when he greets someone, but that's just his personality. Actually, inside him lies a cute playful dog boy who misses the warmth of home and the love of his family .
