Hotel Arenal Manoa Hotel and Hot Springs in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. This is a lovely 3.5-4 star option eco-resort and spa. The service was excellent and the lush rainforest surrounding was gorgeous. There are 2 pools - one regular and one with the volcano hot springs water. Happy hour at each pool - one from 4-5pm (regular pool) and the next from 5-6pm at the Thermal Pool.

These Mexican Puebla shirts and pottery instantly bring back memories of growing up in San Diego as a little girl and all the trips we’d take to Tijuana for the day to shop. We had a bunch of these shirts as well as the pottery and so many other items I remember littered all over the house (can you still get the Mexican jumping beans??). Little did I realize I was an “international traveler” at that age. Walking across the border didn’t seem that glamorous - but it counts!! 😂 Plus, I loved going somewhere a bit more foreign than where I lived. Anyone else have fond memories of trinkets from places they’d regularly visit as a kid?

This guy asked me to marry him 10 years ago to this day. It was really important to me to be with someone that loved traveling as much as I did. I also knew that one of the biggest tests of our relationship would be what it was like traveling together. The first two pictures here are of our 10 day trip to Bali. It was great, we all travelled together so well so it basically cinched the deal for me if he chose to propose one day. Two days after he got home (he went on a surf boat for 12 days after Evan and I left), he popped the question to me and Evan at an Angel game with the help of friends and strangers in these red shirts he made up for his proposal (pics 3 and 4). Well now how could a girl say no to that ❤️. Is love of travel a must have in a partner for you?

My sisters and I were Navy brats and moved around a bit as you do when a military family . I think this laid my foundation of my love of travel. Our last move before I moved out was just when I was starting high school. I knew only one person when I got there. For me, I don’t remember being scared or nervous to move somewhere new, instead I can recall feelings of excitement and curiosity as to what new people we’d meet and what the new location would be like. I get that feeling when traveling anywhere new to this day. When did traveling become a part of who you are?
