The environments that I have been in, I’ve always knew and felt I was the different one. People would treat me nasty, weird, gossip, look at me, belittle me thinking they can do whatever they want to me, make me feel uncomfortable, spy on me and simply just try to put me down for no particular reason.

The feeling is uncomfortable and had me thinking “ God what is wrong with me”? “Why can’t I just fit in or be accepted”? “What is it about me that causes people to act this way to me and around me”? “Why am I attracting these people”? As I am growing through it, and maturing God has given me a new perspective about it all and all I could do was take it to the Lord.

I have to accept and be ok with not fitting in. Accept that I will not always be accepted and loved for who I am, but in the end God loves me and he will put people in my life who will give me wisdom and love ❤️. So God, always tells me to never feel bad for being who you are.

This is like a pinch me moment. I have to share because this is a testament to staying the course when you feel like you can’t do it, have self doubt, worry or fear when things get tough.

It’s funny because I had spoken to one of my model coaches that eventually I wanted her to train me to become a trainer when the time is right, and I was bold enough to ask because I knew that where I am at in my journey I wanted more. I wanted to take it to the next level. She gave me an answer, and I didn’t take any offense to it because I knew her intentions and the point she was trying to make.

Let’s just say I am glad that I brought this to her attention and had this goal in mind because you never know what opportunity may come your way… I get a message maybe a couple weeks later or a month that Regene Renea Hallback modeling program would like for me to assist in training the models. And I am like what?!?! Let me read that again. I didn’t even hesitate to answer, I was like yes, yes and yes!! So in alignment!!!!

I say this to say, this program gave me so much more confidence and the tools I needed to jumpstart my career. I didn’t think in this timeframe, as I was student learning and still learning now in a different position. I was that girl who didn’t believe in herself, had low confidence and didn’t think she could. But this program changed all of that for me, and I can confidently say it has been a journey but it is unfolding into a beautiful one.

I can confidently say that I am welcomed to the team to be a coaching assistant for BMS!!!!

God does beautiful things in our life, and even when he is molding and preparing us for this next level in our lives we have to trust the process even when it gets hard and doesn’t seem possible IT IS.

I’m ready to elevate and grow to the next level and I get to learn from the best!!!!

Someone had asked me how do you know an opportunity would be a waste of time?

My personal answer was, whenever considering any opportunity you should think about a lot of things. First and foremost I think about “why” I am doing it. Why do I want to pursue this opportunity? Your “why” gives you more clarity when pursuing something you want to do to see if it aligns with your values and goals that you want to achieve.

Ask your self these questions:
1. Why am I pursuing this opportunity? What can this opportunity do for me?
2. Is this opportunity going to benefit me in any way? Is it going to help me elevate and grow?
3. What can I get out of this experience?

Once you can evaluate and ask yourself these questions and can answer them, then you can determine if you want to pursue that opportunity or if it is for you. Your “why” will also give you motivation and determination to go after your goals even when it gets hard.

I say this to say that when this Paris trip came across I just knew it was for me. Every thing that was included in this trip, and what I was able to get out of it aligned with my goals. I knew that I was doing this for me, to expand and grow on a different platform and this very reason keeps me motivated and determined to go on this trip and keep pushing until I get there!!!

So, I have 2 model comp cards based on the work I am trying to attract.

I created this comp card to have specifically for modeling agencies as they prefer to have a headshot and Digitals in all black fitted clothes to see your body and your shape. Also, a very natural look so they can see your features, and what work they can submit you to based on your look and what that particular gig is looking for.

It gives them a better picture of the ‘natural’ you to provide opportunities that best fits you/your look.

I am on this exciting journey to Paris Fashion Week. This journey has been challenging yet rewarding. Through the investments I made in myself for the last 2 years has gotten me to places I have never thought I would be in, opportunities I thought I would never see me getting but because of my dedication, motivation, sacrifice, praying when I felt like giving up and throwing in the towel God kept me and reassured me who he was, and what he can do.

Paris gives me the opportunity to expand in this industry. It gives me the experience and exposure to make different connections, and be on a bigger platform to showcase my talents in front of different eyes. Investing in my growth to be in the room in making those connections will help me to expand to new heights and take my career to the next level.

This is the year for expansion & continued growth and I want to expand outside of Florida and this is one of the opportunities where I can share my gift to the other part of the world. 🌎

Your model comp card is your business card. It’s good to have them digitally and printed out to have in hand to give out if you need too.

You never know who is looking at you and wanting to work with you, for future purposes.

Here is an example. I made this on Canva.

On the front, have a nice professional headshot.

On the back, you can include 3-4 photos of yourself, (more current photos are preferred) but you can include pictures with the different hairstyles you wear depending on how frequently you change your look.

Up to date measurements, and your contact information on how they contact you.

If you want to get started in modeling, and you are wondering what are some of the things you need, here is one of the major things you need. A composite card. I encourage you to have this completed before doing anything else.

It’s apart of having the basic skill set of a model.

When God made me, he made me different. Different meaning, that I am not doing what everybody else is doing.

I’m really learning what “ different” means. Growing up, I always felt like the “outcast” in the environments that I was in because I didn’t have the same thoughts or opinions as others. People would look at me weird and crazy every time I spoke what was on my mind.

I didn’t do the things people were doing like gossiping, getting into drama, or fighting with others because it was not me, and I knew it wasn’t me. So it always felt as if I could never feel connected or apart of anything in the environment I was in because that wasn’t apart of my character. I would always get called the “good” girl, or I am acting “white” because I didn’t listen to the music they were listening to, I didn’t go to the clubs they went to, or parties. I was considered boring. So, it shut me down to a place where I felt like I never fitted in,or more my voice didn’t matter or would it make sense to others.

Even as I am learning to mature, it’s still hard to find my sense of belonging, where I can connect with others that accept your uniqueness, reassures that your voice matters and where you can be your authentic self.

It really stresses the importance of community, and how your environment matters.

A lot has happened in 2 years, but I am grateful for where God has taken me in just 2 years, didn’t know I would be here but God.
