Good news, I haven’t forgotten how to ride a bike!

Lately, on the road
Progress looks a little different for me these days but for me this is a big step: actually wanting to post a picture of riding. That might not make much sense but my relationship with riding has changed a lot due to my injury but I am working hard to get back to where progress is me checking off the next big jump!
Thanks to everyone that’s followed along and especially for one of my all time favourite shots 💛
Nelson so far = crisp ❄️🧊🩵
Staying warm thanks to 🫡
Can’t believe I’m leaving these views but on to a new adventure in Nelson for the winter! Time to remember how to ski ⛷️
A mishmash of photos from the past month. The highlights included:
- racing Rubble Creek Classic with my dad. The first time we did this race I was 14 so it was really special for us to do it again together. We pushed each other and actually raced it and I could barely walk the next day! 25km, 1000m vert in 2:54h!!
- remembering how to climb with . Forgot how fun this sport is, especially when someone else does all the leading:)
- running the Howe Sound Chris Trail with a bunch of strangers that I now get to call my friends!
A new Lucy is emerging and it feels good! Spent the last week canoeing on the west coast of Vancouver island, learning to catch salmon and enjoying every moment of being “out there”. Such a special feeling.

Still no riding for me but keeping busy in the mountains. Lots of ups and downs but finally starting to be at peace with this injury and letting my body do its thing.
Hello world, I am here to give you an update on my racing/life plans for the summer, because I’ve been a bit quiet lately.
As some of you may know, I have been dealing with a shoulder injury for the past year as well as finishing my last year of university, two things that have taken a big toll on me.
I have tendonitis in my shoulder and it has resulted in chronic pain in my neck and upper back for the past 8 months. I have seen many practitioners over the past year but my recovery has been slow and very up and down.
Some weeks I have been able to ride and some weeks I can’t, and I have had to stop a lot of my training due to this injury.
Dealing with this injury has been really hard for me both mentally and physically, and my mental health has really suffered, which I am also getting help for.
Now that I am officially done school, which was another battle in itself, I’ve had some time to reflect on the past year and I’ve decided to take a break from riding to let my body and mind heal.
This decision does not come easily. Riding my bike is one of my favourite things in the world, and racing makes it even better. Because I’ve had to step away from training I have found a new fire within me to train harder than I ever have before once I am back.
My plan is to take 4-6 weeks off the bike to see how my shoulder feels. This does mean I will miss some races, but not having a “deadline” to be back on my bike is really important for managing my stress.
A big part of this break is also for my mental health because I need some time to decompress from the last 8 months of school, and I need a break from the biking world. I am going to delete instagram for this time period, so if you want to get ahold of me shoot me a text or email.
My plan is to pick up running again, hike some peaks, and work, so let me know if you want to go for a run or hike!
I also want to say a huge thank you to all my friends and family, practitioners, and who have helped me through this so far, it’s been tough but I am tougher.
💛💛💛

3 years on board and it’s finally time to say goodbye.
I’ve had so many great memories with Norco and these photos are only a few of them.
A couple of thank you’s to the people who made my time here memorable.
Thank you to for believing in me from the beginning and supporting me in a way I hadn’t experienced before. I truly felt valued.
Thank you to for always making sure I had parts or whatever I needed. Your communication was incredible.
Thank you to and .meen for keeping our bikes dialled at the races as well as being fantastic travel partners.
And finally thank you to and .lan for being the best teammates. I learned something unique from each of you and really cherished my time with you guys. I can’t wait to race with you all again soon💛
Thank you !
Life lately ☀️ Back to school, good friends, and expensive gas ⛽️
This race meant a lot to me. All season I have really struggled with enduro. I felt like I was just holding on and couldn’t find the physical or mental strength to actually push, and it made me really start to dread enduro racing.
These feelings are what made me take a break after the first block of racing and switch up my schedule, and I’m so happy I did! I really loved racing downhill and it helped me to find my speed and hunger again. It also pushed my limits and I already feel way more confident on both bikes.
This last weekend at Enduro Nationals was special for me because I found my spark again. I felt strong on my bike, I could actually “race”, and it feels so f***ing good! I guess moral of the story is sometimes you need to take some time off to love it again, and I’m so glad I have the team behind me that allows me to do that. Peace out 2022, already so excited for next season!!
1- nationals podium
2,3- early season struggle bus
Back between the tape this weekend at ! Couldn’t be more stoked to race at home:)

Whistler EWS done and dusted 🇨🇦
Coming into the next few races so I thought I’d give you guys a little update.
After the first block of races in Europe it made me realize how much I want to diversify my riding and not focus on one decipline just yet. So I switched up my summer plans.
I will be racing EWS Whistler and then staying in Canada to race Dual slalom and Canadian Open Dh at Crankworx! For the rest of the summer I’ll be racing some dh bc cups and Canadian enduro races.
I am stoked!
Thank you to all my sponsors for supporting me in this decision and to my incredible coach for always being in my corner throughout this learning curve.
See you all at Crankworx!
Wowwwww p2 at DH nationals! Was not expecting this one but I am stoked!
Back home to this view 😍

Ahhhhh so close! Stoked to finish off this block of racing with my best race yet! It felt great to be able to push and feel like I was racing, not just holding on.
Unfortunately I dropped a chain on the last stage which cost me lots of time but my other stages were great!
Thank you so much to everyone who’s helped me get here, especially to for all the support.
Now time to reset before Whistlaaaaa!

Yesterdays practice thoughts: wow that’s a nice view, oh s**t there’s a lot of roots here, don’t mess this up because there’s so many people watching, oh no there’s a really sharp turn there and I’m going too fast, okay this is fun!

Good jump, even better view!
Practice starts today and my goal is to enjoy the process.

Walking away from the toughest race I’ve ever done, but proud to have finished.
The past few weeks have been a bit rough. Getting sick twice really took a toll on my body and this weekend I just didn’t have the strength needed.
I’m still leaving with some positives, I’m happy with how I managed the heat, my eating, and good vibes throughout such a long hard day.
Leaving Slovenia with some amazing memories, and I’ll be back for redemption!

Practice done and now onto the pro stage!
Challenging all my patience and just embracing what comes at me.
This course is tough!
A huge thank you to for getting the bikes absolutely dialled this week! My bike has never felt so good 🔥
