We spent part of the day yesterday in Wobulenzi, Luwero District where we went to check on Mzee Hajj Abdul Nadduli and deliver our condolences over the loss of his son and our comrade, Jakaana Suleiman Nadduli. It was exceedingly sad to see the pain this old man and his household are going through, well knowing that Jakaana's untimely death falls squarely on the hands of a regime he helped bring to power. May our brother's soul rest in peace.

KAMPIRINGISA HEALTH CENTRE STATUS.

Dear residents, i visted the health centre that got unroofed due to heavy rains. Due to Govenment delay to respond, i had personally decided to buy the iron sheets to immediately roof it since it called for emmergence response.

However,Engineers advised that the entire structure/building needs to be put down because of the existing huge crucks with the building.

That goes beyond my means and capacity, we need to Lobby further to better the situation thus written to relevant bodies to take action as I pressurize them.

Last week, some of the Ugandans living in South Africa protested at the "Africa Energy week” conference in Cape Town. Gen. Museveni was expected to physically attend the event, but following the much publicised protests, he cancelled his presence and addressed the conference virtually.

These Ugandans highlighted corruption, misuse of state resources, the rigging of elections with impunity as well as the pervasive human rights violations, including abductions, torture and extrajudicial killings of our people. They also expressed solidarity with our position on . The events were covered by international media.

I want to thank the National Unity Platform South Africa chapter and all Ugandans who turned up for the protest. It is important that we continue to expose the regime of blood to all people out there.

Let me appreciate in a special way Nkunyingi Muwada who in August visited different places in UAE and brought the plight of Ugandas there to the limelight. He visited different prisons and for the first time made all of us aware of what was going on with these brothers and sisters.

I also want to appreciate our brothers and sisters of the Torture Survivors Movement UG for leading protests about the terrible working conditions, and the unexplained deaths of several Ugandans working in those countries. Thank you Sserunkuuma John Bosco , Nelson Wine , Ssemanda Brian , Sseruga Omuzoganyi wa Bobi , Sharon kemi, David Musiri , Hon Kalyango baker essuubi lya mpigi mayor , , and all the others who ended up in jail for protesting about this issue. Your effort and sacrifice was never in vain!

We shall not get tired of checking on our people who are still in illegal detention. Yesterday, we visited Kitalya prison to check on our people who are detained there. One of the recent additions to the team is Kato Hussein Gaaza who was abducted and spent 26 days under incommunicado detention before he was arraigned before the General Court Martial and remanded. There are also three comrades who were arrested during Bobi Wine 's attempt to carry out consultations in January 2020 and up to now are being detained without trial. We must never allow the regime to normalise these grave injustices. We must continue doing whatever we can to put an end to this barbaric behaviour.

Bobi Wine : THE PEOPLE'S PRESIDENT

Born in the slums of Kampala, Wine, Ugandan opposition leader, former member of parliament, activist and national superstar musician, risks his life to fight the ruthless regime led by Yoweri Museveni, who has been in power for more than 37 years. BOBI WINE: THE PEOPLE'S PRESIDENT is an “intimate portrait of a hugely engaging figure that also serves as a sobering warning about the seeming impossibility of democratic change in a dictatorship.”
We Ugandans sends our appreciation to the following people and organisations that put there effort to push our struggle to the faces of the world. We promise we shall not give up until its finished. And we hope this àward will empower us to keep solid with our president.

NUP WOMEN WING NATIONAL FLAGBEARERS MEET
Yesterday, the National Unity Platform Women Wing held a national meeting with our 2021 Flagbearers whose victory was postponed. The meeting was attended by women contenders and leaders including MPs, Mayors, LCV and LCIII Councilors from the Northern, Eastern, Western and Central Regions.

We reflected on the past election experiences, shared stories on the way forward and strategies on strengthening the Women Wing on their regions. Women shared gruesome personal stories on how elections were marred by voter bribery, extensive monetized politics including District Election Registrars asking for money from them before declaring them winners and failure to pay led to the declaration of the other candidates, highly sexualized politics, loss of spousal support leading to breaking of marriages, among others.

The Women Wing will continue supporting, engaging and training them to become leaders of influence in their regions. Barbie Kyagulanyi Bobi Wine David Lewis Rubongoya Joel Ssenyonyi Hon. Teddy Nambooze Dr. Lina Zedriga Waru

In the minds of dictators with their unlimited lust for power, the people are the problem.

1. Because people have opinions.
2. Because people have rights.
3. Because people can resist.

So, our president Bobi Wine is a problem & will continue to be until we are all free

Dear Ugandans, let us all be the problem for them! Everyone play your part nomatter small it is, we shall overcome.

Yesterday late evening, we received the first batch of 12 Ugandans who have been stuck in detention centers in UAE for several months. We hosted them at Magere and listened to their stories, which are very depressing. Many had to run away from torture and other dehumanising conditions until they ended up in the detention centers. The priority was to first bring in those who are sick as well as those who have other urgent concerns.

We are very grateful to all of you who have embraced our campaign to bring our sisters and brothers back home, as well as those who are working tirelessly to process their exit from the deportation centers! In the coming days, we hope to receive many others and we shall be updating the nation accordingly.

This is a national call. I want to encourage all leaders, political parties, religious institutions, the business community and all Ugandans who have means, to embrace this cause. I encourage all leaders of the National Unity Platform at different levels to help and at least return one Ugandan!

God bless you. God bless Uganda.

Aside from these, we have many other comrades who were picked up for putting on red berets and have spent all this time in detention. Despite the setback this week, these comrades are still strong because they know that they did not commit any offence. We encouraged them and gave them assurance that we shall continue doing our best to push for justice, but most importantly to see that our country becomes free.

Today on what is supposed to be the Uganda's Independence day, together with fellow leaders and MPs, we visited our sisters who are being held in Al awir detention centre in Dubai pending their deportation. All they need is a flight ticket back home which costs about 200 USdollars (800,000 Ugshs).
In this one center alone are 600African girls (200 Ugandans and 400 of other Nationalities). There are 21 detention centres in UAE alone.

We traveled to Dubai for a charity concert which was meant to raise funds to return these people home after the government of Uganda completely ignored them.

Unfortunately, with the influence of the Ugandan Embassy in Dubai, this concert was cancelled on the last minute thereby crushing all their hopes.

Today we promised them that the efforts to return them home have not stopped. We shall stop at nothing to see our people returned home where they're loved and respected.
We continue to call upon all people of good will who can assist in this effort.

Photos from Paintforourlives's post 08/10/2022

After 12 hours of waiting (from 8:30pm to 9:30am) I've been finally allowed to proceed into Dubai. Hoping that our charity concert, which seemed to be the source of these issues, will be allowed to proceed. We are only trying to raise awareness and assist the many Ugandan and African Immigrant workers.

WHERE IS HE? On 21st November 2020, Ddamulira John, 50 was abducted by armed security operatives from his shop in Kisekka market. Police confirmed they took him. Gen. The ongoing humiliation and persecution of Hon. Lady Justice Esther Kisakye by leaders within the judiciary is unfortunate. It should be condemned.

In February 2021, Justice Kisakye defied illegal orders of the Chief Justice who wanted to censor the dissenting Judgment she gave in our favour during the presidential election Petition we had filed against dictator Museveni. To block her from delivering her judgment, the Chief Justice Mr. Owiny-Dollo (M7’s former lawyer) confiscated her file and ordered the Courtroom shut down!

Later when Justice Kisakye tried to deliver another Judgment showing why he should not have presided over the Petition, the partisan Mr. Owiny-Dollo had the entire court building put on lock down! This background shows why the Lady Justice is now being singled out for punishment. Any other 'explanation' for mistreating her is just an excuse.

Article 128 of our Constitution guarantees judicial independence. However, there are so many judicial officers out there being victimised for resisting unseemly State interference with how they dispense justice. Many have been dumped in hard-to-reach duty stations — not because the citizens that side do not deserve justice, but because the deprived conditions of work there serve as some form of punishment to "stubborn" judicial officers.

Experienced and qualified officers have been denied promotion in favour of their regime-leaning juniors. You might wonder why Justice Kisakye who has spent 13+ years in the Supreme Court alone was passed over for Mr. Owiny-Dollo who was 10+ years her junior at that level. Despite churning out several locus classicus Judgments regularly cited in our courtrooms and law classes, some Judges have remained stuck at High Court level as M7's former Ministers are appointed from nowhere to the Court of Appeal and higher.

It therefore goes without saying that Justice Kisakye is being hounded for choosing to defend the Constitution and her judicial oath instead of succumbing to the whims of the bandits who hold our country and its institutions hostage. For that, we hold her in the highest of regard and know that the future will vindicate her the same way it did the late Chief Justice Benedicto Kiwanuka. We stand with Justice Kisakye, just like we do all such other public servants as have maintained fidelity to the law and to our Country.

As for the rest of us, comrades, these ugly events not only validate our struggle but also remind us that we have a country to save. !

I have learnt of the arrest, this morning, of these young activists who went to Parliament to deliver a Petition and protest against the continuing detention of Ugandans stranded in Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries.

Hundreds of Ugandans are stranded in different countries. Most of them went there looking for jobs but did not find any. Some of the companies which took them confiscated their passports, asking them to refund the money they used to transport them. Many others have had their travel documents expire and now have to pay lots of money in fines.

The regime here is aware but unwilling to do anything to assist them. They would rather spend public funds on expensive birthday parties and patronage, than spend funds to assist the citizens of Uganda who are being subjected to so much humiliation. If one regime official falls sick, they find it easy to charter a flight or have a Uganda Airlines plane airlift them to any country. Why is it difficult to charter a flight to bring stranded Ugandans home?

Moreover, almost every week, some Ugandans are brought back in caskets following unexplained deaths. In most cases, the families of the victims have spoken of their people being subjected to extreme torture.

Instead of listening to the demands from these activists, the regime is instead violently arresting them. I want to appreciate and express solidarity with these comrades, themselves survivors of torture, for standing up for the rights of Ugandan immigrants. Thank you for courageously protesting against the indignity of our people. It is not a crime to protest peacefully.

In the meantime, I encourage all of us to do the little we can to assist our brothers and sisters stranded. In the coming days, we shall be announcing our own initiative to assist.

We shall overcome!

Yesterday, I was honoured to take part in the 79th World Film Festival in Venice, Italy.

For the last 5 years, our struggle has been captured on camera and a documentary film was made to show to the world the true picture of what is happening in Uganda. I am humbled that this film was selected to be among the top 20 films in the world to grace this festival.

I walked the red carpet with the world's top stars. I had almost forgotten how to be among stars 😅.

I hope this film goes far to expose the true picture of Uganda's situation, something that the regime has been paying billions of tax payers' money to hide from the world.
Saawa ya kulabisa!

On Friday,President met these five comrades who were arrested on 10th December, 2020 in Arua Park for putting on the red berets. Their crime was supporting him and NUP! They were severely tortured and held at Mbuya military barracks for weeks. Eventually, they were charged before the military court and have been at Kitalya for close to two years without trial. Like many of our supporters, they were eventually forced to plead guilty to the charges of putting on military uniform, and sentenced to caution. They were released this week. They return back to broken families, jobs that are no more and so many other challenges. For no crime whatsoever!

president welcomed the comrades and assured them that God willing, there will be justice for all these crimes against humanity.

Delighted to spend part of the day with our comrades from the Northern Uganda Sub-regions of Acholi, Karamoja, West-Nile and Lango. We discussed various issues under the objective of revamping the spirit of resistance against dictatorship and misrule. I am very happy to note that despite all the challenges and tribulations, these comrades are still committed to the cause.

It's been four years since I was released by the military court and was immediately re-arrested. To date, the guns that were paraded as having been found in my hotel room have never resurfaced. Our vehicles which were illegally impounded have never been released. There has been no justice for Yasin Kawuma and all the others who have been murdered since. This is why we cannot and shall not give up, until Uganda is free.

Together we can and shall redeem our country from dictatorship. Keep the hope alive.

On Saturday, yet again celebrated our Heroes Day, which takes place every 13th of August, in commemoration of the events in Arua in 2018. On this day, we gather to pray for the souls of the com
rades who have left us and to remember their sacrifice. We especially remembered the brothers and sisters who have been murdered in cold blood over the past few years. Like the previous events, we hosted families of our departed comrades and prayed with them, but assured them yet again of our enduring commitment to see that they get justice one day.

We are super grateful to the leaders and comrades who have invested numerous weeks in planning for this event. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

May God grant that the sacrifices which so many people have made will never go to waste.
