Confessions of a Motherhood Freak
We are all told, “live your life to the fullest”; I am here to do just that. Here is your go-to place
You are not the long term solution for your employer’s lack of resource planning👏🏼
Go home, be with your family if you’re fornutate enough to have one, and don’t die a slave to your job.
TO THE WOMAN WHO IS SLOWLY FADING AWAY...
To the woman who has lost her spark.
To the woman whose get up and go, has well and truly gone.
This is for you.
This is to remind you whose daughter you are.
This is to remind you, that you don’t have to be everything to everyone, every day.
You didn’t sign up for that.
Remember when you used to laugh? Sing? Throw caution to the wind?
Remember when you used to forgive yourself more quickly for not always being perfect.
You can get that back again.
You really can.
And that doesn’t have to mean letting people down or walking away.
It just means being kinder to you, feeling brave enough to say “no” sometimes.
Being brave enough to stop sometimes.
And rest.
It starts the moment you realise that you’re not quite who you used to be. Some of that is good, some of that is not.
There are parts of you that need to be brought back.
And if anyone in your life is not okay with that... they are not your people.
Your people will be glad to see that spark starting to light up again.
So, if you have been slowly fading away my friend, this is the time to start saying “yes!” to things that bring you joy and “no” to things that don’t.
It’s really pretty simple.

Your kids don’t care if everything is “perfect” for Christmas.
They don’t care if the presents are wrapped perfectly with bows or in plain boxes.
They don’t care about the decorations, or how the house looks.
They probably don’t care too much about what’s for supper. Whether they’re having a traditional meal, or mac n’ cheese.
But you know what they will remember?
They’ll remember your love and warmth.
They’ll remember if you were happy to spend time with them.
They’ll remember the laughter together.
They’ll remember the warmth of your snuggles.
So, relax this Christmas.
Enjoy your time with your family, in love and joy.

This man.
For the last 8.5 years, he has been my best friend friend. My rock.
When I think back to any important moment of my life, there he was. Any moment where I needed a shoulder to lean on, there he was. Moments of great sadness and moments of great success, there he was.
Cheering me on, encouraging me, pushing me forward.
I remember, during a very hurtful time in my life, when I told him I just needed a quiet space to sit in and he said he didn’t want me to be alone, but he promised he’d be real quiet (he’s always so cute).
Meeting as teenagers, we literally grew up together, matured together, and continue to do so.
Absolutely no one could ever take his place.
He just exists and the world, especially my world, is better because of it.
“A friend once asked me if I wanted to know what another mom said about me behind my back.
I politely said, “No thank-you."
To this day I still have no Idea what was said about me.
And Friend, it doesn't matter.
What I do know is that I saw this mom a few weeks later at the grocery store and greeted her with a smile and open arms.
To this day she has no idea that I am aware of the fact that she said something unkind behind my back
And Friend, it doesn't matter.
The tables you aren't invited to sit at don't matter.
The opinions of others don't matter.
What another person thinks about you really doesn't matter.
It has taken me almost 32 years now to realize that the one and only thing that matters when it comes to what is "said" about me: is what God says about me.
In case you need a little reminder today, in case you need your heart filled to the brim with wonderful words about you, here's a few:
"She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. -Proverbs 3:15
"Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come" -Proverbs 31:25
"God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns." -Psalm 46:5
When you see yourself in the light of God's love for you, the thoughts, words and opinions of those around you all start to fade away.
You learn to say "no thank-you" and gracefully move on with your life.

Such true words!
So. Are. You.
To the person who worries what others may think or say about you...
Here is a room FILLED with all of the people who pay your bills, walk in your shoes every day, determine your future, and love your family way more than you possibly could.
These are the same people you should allow to discourage you.
Let that sink in. 💛

Picky Eaters & Meal-Time Fun! When it comes to my toddler, I want the best (doesn't every mom?). Meal time can be tricky between finding delicious flavors, fun ways to eat, and making sure it's all healthy. What I've found that works are meals that are colorful (veggies, fruit, nuts) and also bite sized! I don't know what it is....

New Changes, New You Life is full of surprises. I try my best to embrace them, but, let's be honest here, that just doesn't always happen. We've all been impacted by COVID-19, some more than others. I'm blessed to be able to say that my family hasn't felt the impact too harshly, but we've definitely had our stresses. Ha...
