What an amazing and fun way to spend a Sunday. Officially GodParents to our Baby Mya 🙏🏼 thank you to and .rachel for giving us this honor. Never did i think in my life i would be one and i can’t thank you two enough for providing the opportunity to do so. Family forever ✊🏼🌴☀️

In my observation of the fight, i made him go from plan A to his last plan of attack in 30 seconds. Made a good perry of the jab which made me feel my distance more clear. Went in for an engagement near the cage which led my opponent to shoot to my left leg. Shot was stuffed, gave a couple more punches (this is where i felt him fold mentally), circled to the back while he was in 🐢 position. Crucial hand fighting was engaged underneath his stomach. My left hand controlled his left hand. I replace my left hand with the right to free up my left to punch (still in turtle). And right when i thought to start punching. Opponent imanari rolled straight into the knee bar. And i tapped.
Well played. Not once in film study did i see him ever do this, i saw a methodical sambo jiujitsu player. Not a leg locker. All thru training camp, i would stuff shots and disengage to keep it standing. I did not do that in the fight and i paid for it.

I walked into the cage about 70% on my health meter. I was suffering from severe low back spasms 3 weeks prior up until fight night. During those 3 weeks, mentally my gameplan was “the sooner i can get out of there, the better.” When the gameplan was to drag him into deep waters and make him stand with me until the finish came to me.
I do not say this as an excuse as why i lost. I walked in that cage still believing i could beat him even when I’m not 100%. It’s me being transparent with myself as it affected my mentality in rushing the finish and not being patient.

The thing with an “overnight success” is that you didn’t see the 2,000 nights in the trenches that make it worth it. You don’t see the injuries, daily consistency, missing a dinner made by your parents, missing birthdays, missing date night with the lady, missing morning coffee with mom, nights stayed in on the weekends, bank account in the negative, not letting your mental take over, finding snakes in your circle.

Camp went absolutely fantastic - strategic, tactical, and tough. The hard part is over - it’s time to reflect and enjoy the days prior to war.
Camp isn’t about getting better as a fighter. Each camp you deal with emotional/reality problems. How you deal with that on a daily basis and what you become as a person is also a part of camp. I love this game - the highs the lows. Without the game, there wouldn’t be a me.
