We have a new issue today! You know what to do! ⭐
As Waters Ave continues to expand, there has been lots of talk about preservation and what that means for the future of the street. Ansley chatted with preservationist Briana Paxton about all of this and more. Don't forget to subscribe to check it out!
The most notable news from the latest City Council meeting was the denial of a zoning change request for a storage facility on Victory Drive, but there was lots more happening as well. As usual, Brian has the scoop and you can check it out at our site right now!
Savannah is celebrating one of its own on July 20th at Victory North. In honor of Craig Tanner, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2021, local musicians will be honoring his music and stamp on Savannah at the 4th annual Homegrown Summer Jam. Maddie chatted with some of the folks behind the event. Read and subscribe at our site!

We’re sad to let you know that Rachael Flora is leaving The Savannahian, after nearly four years of incredible journalism and leadership.
We started this together at a time when we all knew that independent local news was more important than ever, and we bonded over a shared desire to provide that to our community. We also knew it was an important moment for launching a woman-led and disabled-led publication that could give a platform to Savannahians who perhaps never had one before.
Since that time, Rachael has—largely on her own—taken on the role of managing our large and ever-growing group of writers. To say she has done a stellar job would be a true understatement.
Rachael let us know that she feels it’s time for her to move on and pursue other things, and we’re sad to see her go but excited for whatever she has in store for the future. We remain friends and are truly grateful to all be moving into this next phase on great terms.
We (Jim and Sean) will be continuing full steam ahead and are excited about the future of The Savannahian. Thank you for the support and we’re looking forward to all that is to come.
-Jim Morekis and Sean Kelly

We've more than doubled our weekly content, expanded our freelance roster to include more than 30 talented writers, and have stayed true to our mission along the way. As we prepare for Thanksgiving tomorrow, we wanted to thank you today—we'd be nowhere without our readers and supporters. Cheers to the next three years! 🥂
