A rant on fragrance (Swipe >>> to read the full post)

💖With the ongoing controversy and conflict about fragrance on skincare products, there is some conclusion I get after my months of research.

💖The above data is in reference to the report in www.fda.govt. With some my own opinion.

💖I prefer fragrance free products as its my personal preference because I have sensitive skin and I don't know what's behind the term'" fragrance '" on the ingredient of skincare product, i dont want to treat my skin as lab rat to test it,whether I have allergic reaction with this fragrance or any other ingredients which the fragrance composed of or not as under U.S. regulations, fragrance and flavor ingredients can be listed simply as “Fragrance” or “Flavor.”

FDA requires the list of ingredients under the Fair Packaging and Labeling ActExternal Link Disclaimer (FPLA). This law is not allowed to be used to force a company to tell “trade secrets.”Fragrance and flavor formulas are complex mixtures of many different natural and synthetic chemical ingredients, and they are the kinds of cosmetic components that are most likely to be “trade secrets.

💖 But its not fair to say all fragrances are bad on skincare product, because the same fragrance which irritates me can have no side effects on others as they are not allergic to that particular type of fragrance, so it's about allergic reaction not a good or bad ingredient and most importantly it's about a formulation as i have seen various products which contains fragrance but works amazing.

💖FDA does not have the same legal authority to require allergen labeling for cosmetics as for food. So, if you are concerned about fragrance sensitivities, you may want to choose products that are fragrance free, and check the ingredient list carefully. If consumers have questions, they may choose to contact the manufacturer directly.

💖 I have tried to provide all about fragrance and skincare products on one post, but that's not possible, so let me know if you have some questions.

💖 And do please correct me if I am wrong somewhere 🙈, it's a journey and a process, i would love to learn more ❤️

Isntree green tea fresh toner review 🧐
Rating 5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
☘️Product claims :-ISNTREE Green Tea Fresh Toner is formulated with 80% of Green Tea Extract, Hyaluronic Acid and Centella Asiatica Extract. The green tea is harvested from Jeju Island and is great to revitalize the skin. This toner also controls your oil, protects, brighten and balances the skin. It works great with acne due to the centella extracts inside and it moisturizes the skin. It is hypoallergenic and contains EWG green grade ingredients that are safe to use on the skin.
☘️Ingredients: green tea extract, purified water, ginkgo tree extract, asiatic pennywort extract, white willow bark extract, blueberry extract, longleaf pine leaf extract, david elm root extract, evening primrose extract, arrowroot extract, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / VP copolymer, allantoin, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, beta-glucan, disodium EDTA, hydroxyacetophenone
☘️Product highlights :-Paraben-Free,Sulfate-Free,Alcohol-Free, EUAllergen-Free, Fungal Acne (Malassezia)Safe, Cruelty-Free
☘️My experience :-
I bought this product due to the colour of the bottle, I don't why I was infatuated with the bottle but now I am infatuated with the toner 😍This toner is light, watery, and very pleasant. this toner is my favourite green tea toner that I've come across thus far.It hydrates and calms, balancing my sensitive skin, I feel it moisturises my face well enough without it being too heavy and I have found it helps calm my redness down, That being said, I do layer other skincare on top (serum, moisturiser etc) so I don't really need my toners to be super hydrating. The packaging is so nice and the toner has a really unique deep colour (like tea), The Isntree Green Tea Toner does not have much of a scent, just a very faint smell of tea.
💮Here is my holy grail product isntree green tea fresh toner, but but but the Toner is all used up now 😭😭😭 and due to the lockdown I can't get my hands on the new bottle and I don't know when it would be available 😣.
🌱Don't you guys think I am vulnerable?

Benton snail bee high content essence
Rating 5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Description :-
This product contains 90% snail extract and bee venom instead of water. Powerful ingredients such as snail mucin and bee venom help to heal acne, fade acne scars, brighten skin tone, and maintain hydration throughout the day. Snail mucin supports natural cell regeneration and replenishes moisture to increase firmness, and bee venom has natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties. The gel-like essence is also fragrance free! Best recommended for those with sensitive and troubled skin.
What I love :-
This product is Paraben Free, Mineral Oil Free, Alcohol Free, Benzophenone Free, Steroid Free, Synthetic Perfume Free, Artificial Dyes Free, and Artificial Preservatives Free.
My experience :-
Melts into water when applied on skin, spreads easily, and is hardly detectable once dried.Comes with a nice pump dispenser in a sweet bottle. No complaints!LOADED with skin-loving ingredients like 90% Snail Secretion Filtrate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Arbutin, Bee Venom, Willow Bark Extract, Bacillus Ferment, Azelaic Acid, Human Oligopeptide-1, Beta-Glucan, Betaine, Adenosine, Panthenol, Allantoin, and Arginine in addition to a ton of ingredients Almost every single ingredient in this formula does some good for the skin.It leaves behind the absolute slightest sticky feeling on the skin, which in all likelihood is the glycerin in the formula.

An essence is more lightweight and less concentrated than serums and serve as an additional layer of hydration. Packed with nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins, essences provide a more targeted treatment depending on your skin concern. After cleaning your skin, apply toner (to deep clean and prep your skin for the essence). Then apply essence by dispensing the product onto your hand (or a cotton pad) and evenly apply all over your face and neck.
What's your current fav essence?
And what do you think about this product please do let me know. This benton snail bee high content essence is my holy grail and I am totally in love with this,😍😍😍

🐬Neutrogena hydro boost water gel cleanser product review :-
🐳Description :-New Hydro Boost® Water Gel Cleanser, an innovative lightweight gel that activates with water to lather away dirt, oil and make-up while quenching skin with a boost of vital hydration.Hydro Boost® Cleansers contain a patented cleansing technology combined with Hyaluronic Acid to cleanse effectively while protecting the skin’s barrier to help lock in hydration.
Suitable for sensitive skin.
🐳Ingredients :-Aqua, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hydrolyzed Potato Starch Dodecenylsuccinate, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydroxyacetophenone, Poloxamer 188, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Polyacrylate, Zea Mays Starch, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopherol, BHT, Parfum
🐬Ingredients Alert ❌:some of the ingredients are fungal acne triggering like Polysorbate 20 ; Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate ;Sodium Methyl CocoylTaurate(
🐳And some of the ingredients can sensitize your skin and irritate your skin like Phenoxyethano; Fragrance ;
SodiumLaurylSulfate
🐳 Good ingredients ✔️:-Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)
🐬Texture :-It has a consistency similar the that of the water-gel but in a pump. The formula is light and easy to distribute, it really works well to remove make-up and product build up to leave the skin refreshed.
🐬 Packaging :-Its a handy pump bottle that is 145grams in size.
🐬My experience :-. I don't find it to be moisturizing or hydrating but it is not drying. It cleans my face without stripping it or making it red. I love the pump.Pros for me would be the amount and cost. A little goes a long way with this cleanser making it worth it. After using it for weeks now, I have only used about an eighth of the bottle, it cleanses the skin without leaving it feeling stripped, tight and dry, a problem with many gel cleansers.
I won't repurchase it because I had very sensitive skin and some of the ingredients are not meant for me, but it's an average affordable cleanser.
🐳Rating :-3/5 ⭐⭐⭐

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). AHAs are acids derived from foods, and, as it turns out a type of acid that's safe to apply to our skin.
Lactic acid brightens, smooths, and evens skin, while also making it look firmer. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.
All alpha hydroxy acids exfoliate and improve skin texture, but lactic acid has an extra benefit you won't get from its AHA cousins. Lactic acid helps improve the skin's natural moisture factor, or the way the skin keeps itself hydrated.2 Basically, lactic acid helps to keep the skin moisturized and feeling less dry.
It exfoliates by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant complexion.
At concentrations greater than 30 percent, a lactic acid peel is a chemical exfoliant, dissolving dead skin cells from the top layers of skin.

AHA peels are used with good outcomes for people with pigmentation conditions such as melasma, lentigo or freckles, and may help reduce or improve the appearance of acne scars.

Peels are usually considered part of a skin care routine, not just a one-time thing. While they may help you recapture your youthful glow, take note your face may be noticeably red for several weeks post-peel.

🌸Paula's Choice SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant boosts the skin's tone and texture to enhance a natural glow. Salicylic acid exfoliates and promotes faster cell regeneration to minimize the appearance of blemishes, redness, large pores and wrinkles. Green tea soothes inflammation and shields against free-radical damage.
🌸Ingredients :-
Water (Aqua), Methylpropanediol, Butylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Polysorbate 20, Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA.
🌸At a glance :-
✨Cleansers and Exfoliators: Exfoliants Peels and Scrubs
✨Ideal for these Concerns: Aging Skin, Free Radical Damage, Large Pores, Redness, Rosacea, Hypersensitive Skin, Acne, Fine Lines and Wrinkles, Blackheads, Whiteheads
✨Ideal for these Skin Types: Oily Skin, Acne-Prone Skin, Mature Skin, Sensitive Skin, Normal Skin, Combination Skin, Dry Skin
✨Preferences: Gluten-Free, Certified Cruelty-Free, Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free, Vegan, Oil-Free, Fragrance-Free
✨Key Ingredient(s): Salicylic Acid, Green Tea, Antioxidants
✨Application Area: Neck, Face
🌸Texture: This is a watery, runny liquid. Once applied onto the skin, it sinks in quickly and does not feel very greasy, or sticky, which I guess is the advantage of using such liquid based product as opposed to a lotion or gel.
🌸Packaging: Comes in a simple plastic bottle with a hole dispenser. I like the fact that the bottle is not transparent; hence, the ingredients are protected from degrading quickly.
🌸Review:-Regarding the results, I find my skin smooth, my texture is almost gone and I’ve also seen an improvement in the size of my pores. I’ve almost no more blackheads left (I have a tiny one super occasionally, once or twice a year and that’s it!).

About the anti-aging effect, as is often the case, it must be considered over the long term.

also find it very soft, it has never caused me any irritation, even if I use retinol at the same time!

Contrary to what one might think, it’s not drying at all, on the contrary. It’s just a great overall product!

🌸Rate:-5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Would I repurchase it? - yes, i m totally in love with this product 😍 @ India

You’ve spent 10 minutes putting your skincare on and now that you’ve reached the last layer, everything’s flaking off?! What’s going on here?!

Your face’s got a bad case of pilling.
Let’s get something straight from the beginning: those little flakes you’re rubbing off your skin are NOT dead skin cells. It’s product.

Yep, you’re rubbing off one or two of the products you’ve just applied.

How? Why? What?

Here’s the deal: not all skincare products play well together. Most of them will go along just fine. But, every now and then, you’ll meet a couple who can’t stand each other. Try as you might, there’s no way to get them both to stay put. One or both is balling up and leaving your skin. That’s how much they hate each other.

So your moisturiser hates your sunscreen. Your foundation can’t stand your primer. But WHY?

few reasons:

You mix products high in oils with others high in water.
You use products with a high concentration of silicones.
You apply products too quickly.

The brands that claim that their products are non comedogenic, is not to believe because the term non comedogenic is not regulated and can be used by anyone, they have not to go through any verification process to use the term, so it is not worthy to trust a brand or a product on the basis of their claim of noncomedogenic product, the product may still contain some possible irritants and cause you breakouts, so before buying anything please do research on the ingredients list and try to avoid any possible irritants like fragrance, alcohol, essential oils etc. and please do a patch test before applying anything on your face.

Collagen + Aging Explained: Myths, Claims and Facts

Follow to get more updates about skin care, hair care, make up, brands and product review.

Everyone knows that collagen is a protein that is found in our muscles, bones and skin as well as our blood vessels. It is an important protein as it helps in maintaining the elasticity of the skin, bones and muscles. Although, when it comes to our skin, the collagen seems to have become the most important component. There are many myths around collagen that people tend to believe in due to lack of information and sometimes just loads of wrong information. We're here to bust these myths for you.
-People usually believe that it's not possible to restore the body's collagen levels but it's not true. Our body doesn't stop producing collagen but only suffers a decrease in the amount of collagen. The production of it needs to be improved by active ingredients in your diet and food items that can increase the collagen in your body.
- It is also believed that collagen is only important for the skin and our joints but it is actually a protein that acts as a glue for our body. It holds the muscles, blood vessels and bones together. It also maintains the elasticity in our skin, bones and muscles which ensures that it all works well together.

-People tend to trust in the myth that applying collagen creams can help in increasing the elasticity of our skin but that's also not true. Collagen molecules are very large and even if a cream contains collagen, it won't pe*****te deep in your skin.

The I’m From Mugwort Essence is an essence to calm and soothe irritated skin. Consisting of a single ingredient, Mugwort 100%, the soft, thin and fluid texture quickly cleanse and detox sensitive skin. As a Korean natural herb, the mugwort has been widely known for treatments and detoxing effect. This is effective for treating acne, troubled, irritated skin. Apply the essence to areas with concerns to see instant effects. Also may be used as a facial mist, Mugwort bath, and feminine mist.
Overall: This did calm my skin down. Did not further aggrevate my skin. Did not deeply hydrate my skin. Was good for my skin when using retinol and my skin was very very sensitive. I do prefer this to the rice toner which stung. But this did not cure or reduce acne. This did not change my skin tone or anything else that it is claimed to do except further aggrevate my skin.

INGREDIENTS:

Artemisia Princeps Extract 100% – Artemisia princeps is native to China, Japan and Korea. It is widely used in Korean cuisine and sought after for it’s medicinal properties. In cosmetics, it is used for it’s anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Packaging - The glass bottle was tall, thick and heavy. It’s see-through with an olive green stain. Under the twist cap, there was a stopper to prevent the liquid from spilling under the cap, and possibly into the box.

Scent and Texture: The essence was a watery transparent amber liquid with a faint herbal scent that was very comforting. It’s very refreshing to use and got absorbed into the skin quickly. It didn’t leave any tacky feeling.

Overall Score: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Would I repurchase?: Possibly. I do like that this does not further aggrevate my skin and it sinks into the skin easily.

Purging is when your skin is adjusting to the new product, and persevering with the product will eventually make your skin better – in fact, the sudden crop of pimples means that it’s working as intended.

A regular breakout is when your skin is reacting because it’s sensitive to something in the product. It could be clogging your pores, or causing an allergy, or just plain old irritation. Continuing with the product will just make the situation worse.

If your skin is purging, you need to keep going.

If your skin is reacting with a breakout, you need to stop using the product.
