The British Labour government, under pressure from Stalin, did not invite the Polish Armed Forces to the Victory Parade in London which took place in 1946.
Polish soldiers were one of the largest national formations (the 4th allied army) fighting against Germany under the British High Command, with more than 200,000 members of the Polish Armed Forces. None of them marched in the Parade.
So much for gratitude.
Polish veterans took part in a Victory Parade for the first time 60 years after the war had ended.

"I asked the leaf whether it was scared because it was autumn and the other leaves were falling. The leaf told me, “No. During the whole spring and summer I was very alive. I worked hard and helped nourish the tree, and much of me is in the tree. Please do not say that I am just this form, because the form of leaf is only a tiny part of me. I am the whole tree. I know that I am already inside the tree, and when I go back to the soil, I will continue to nourish the tree. That’s why I do not worry. As I leave this branch and float to the ground, I will wave to the tree and tell her, ‘I will see you again very soon.'" ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Fleckney Sports Hall, starting November 9th 2022. Beginner's Tai Chi for Health at 10.30am and every Wednesday until Christmas.
The sessions will be 45 minutes and cost £6 per session.
Come along and give it a try. Tai chi is a gentle form.of exercise that helps to improve balance, mobility and general well being. Suitable for all ages.
No need to book, just come. Comfortable clothing and flat shoes are all you need - unless of course you want to wear a leotard 😁.
I'm thinking of running a beginners class at Fleckney Sports Centre on a Wednesday morning. The cost would £6 per 45 minute session.
In the sessions you would learn the health programmes developed by Dr Paul Lam which draw on the Sun and Yang forms of tai chi, but are put together in a simplified manner which are achievable by anyone regardless of current mobility and balance levels. You don't need previous experience to enjoy the graceful and calming moves of tai chi.
If anyone is interested, please contact me.
Tai Chi for Health is running classes to help and support people with health issues such as arthritis, diabetes, osteoporosis, etc.
But tai chi is not just for people with health issues, it's also good for general health and prevention of issues. For the maintenance of good health, physical mobility and flexibility, and good mental health.
Classes are currently held in the day time on Tuesday and Wednesday in Kibworth and Fleckney. If you are interested in classes in the evening, please get in touch to be on a wait list. I need a minimum number to hire a hall
Any location within 5 miles of Market Harborough.
Tai Chi is gentle, calm, reassuring.
There's still time to join the beginners course in Fleckney on a Wednesday morning.
