Flight attendants, pilots, and office staff tasted a total of 13 kinds of meals🍴.

We would like to introduce the delicious Japanese sweet potatoes!
So, we went to "Kurimoto Furusato Sweet potato festival" in Katori city, Chiba prefecture🍠

We had lots of sweet and delicious sweet potatoes, including sweet potatoes made in a large steamer and savory baked potatoes made in a huge baked potato square 😋.

There were many food stalls, and the outdoor stage was crowded with dancing and singing.
60,000 people, the same number as the population of Katori City, visited the festival!
Mayor Ito of Katori City was also there and took a picture with us!

Mitsuama yaki-imo, which is made from sweet potatoes around Katori City, will be sold on AirJapan's flights.
These baked potatoes are sticky, sweet and delicious without any sugar!

This is the fourth menu in our series on pre-ordering in-flight meals 🍽️

4) “Omusubi Rice Ball Bento”

The chef's heartwarming care and hospitality are colorfully expressed in a small bento box.
The detailed and colorful decoration in the bento culture attracts people from overseas as well.
In considertion of instagrammableness, we prepare two kinds of bento style menus: Omusubi bento and Kawaii lunch box.

The Omusubi bento is made as "ONIGIRAZU" (rice ball) to enjoy its beautiful appearance, and is served with side dishes that are common in Japanese bento boxes.
We named it "Omusubi Bento '' to express our desire to cherish the relationship with our passengers through in-flight meals, and to connect the hearts of people with each other.
AirJapan's uniform incorporates "knots" and "layers" to express Japaneseness, and we have also incorporated these "knots" into our these in-flight meals.

✨✨Khom Loi Festival✨✨

We would like to introduce a recommended event in Thailand.

The annual Buddhist festival "Yi Peng (Khom Loi) Festival" in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
And it will be held on 27th to 28th November this year.
The warm glow of lanterns filling the pitch-black night sky is beautiful and magical.
It is a sight to be seen at least once in a lifetime.

It is said that the Khom Loi Festival is a festival to express gratitude to Buddha, and to give thanks for a bountiful agricultural harvest and crop.
“Khom" means lantern (light) and "roi" means to flow or release.
At the festival, after listening to monks recite sutras and meditate, Khom Loi is finally flown up into the night sky.
After listening to sutra chanting and meditation in a solemn atmosphere, the experience of giving Khom Loi as a token of gratitude is sure to be a moving one!

It only takes about one hour by plane from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, so please take this opportunity to participate in this event!

This is the third menu in our series of pre-ordering in-flight meals 🍽️

3) “Salmon Teriyaki Rice Bowl”

This Salmon rice bowl is arranged in TERIYAKI style, which is a popular style in abroad.
Teriyaki is a delicious seasoning born in Japan and it will be served in-flight as an authentic taste of Japan.
Salmon, the most popular item at sushi restaurants and among foreign nationals, is seasoned with sweet and spicy seasoning.
Considering the change in taste in-flight, we made the flavor distinctly darker and improved it to give it a more appetizing teriyaki.
The rice is also covered with the sauce, allowing you to enjoy the flavorful taste all the way through to the end.
The accompanying spinach is gently simmered in Japanese broth and served with kinpira gobo (chopped burdock root and carrot cooked in sugar and soy sauce), a seasoning that does not interfere with the salmon teriyaki.
It is also ranked high in the number of web reservations at this time!

This time we visited Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, where AirJapan will start flights in February 2024. 🇹🇭

As the shooting day was a weekend, we went to Chatuchak Weekend Market.

The world's largest market is always a sight to behold! I went there to make an original passport case and to get coconut sweets, but it is such a fun place that it is hard to stop and move on.

In this part, we introduce the market, gourmet food recommended by AirJapan flight attendants, massage parlors, and other spots that only we, who visit many times during our stays, would recommend.

We recently went to Katsunuma, Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, to shoot a YouTube video for Koshu wines🍷✨.

As we delved deeper into the wines, we learned how Japanese wines go well with Japanese food 🍽🍷.
In the video, we talked about "AirJapan's pre-ordered in-flight meals and wine pairing", "Are there many sommeliers among AirJapan's CAs? and many other interesting topics!
When we were talking to the winery staff, one words stuck me.

"In wine regions overseas, the local wine is at the top of the wine list at the local restaurants but in Japan, it is still rare.
We are passionate about making wine with the dream of one day seeing Japanese wine at the top of restaurant wine lists in Japan.
And we want to show people how great Japanese wine can be."

These words resonate with the 'Japaneseness' and 'Japanese ideas' that we at AirJapan value, and they impressed me🔥.
I strongly thought that I would like to continue to convey the 'charm of Japan' through our YouTube videos and in-flight services after we launch♡.

2) “Chicken Namban Rice Bowl served with Sunrise Tartar Sauce”

From the "Gotochi (Local) " series, I would like to introduce "Chicken Namban Rice Bowl served with Sunrise Tartar Sauce", a menu item from Miyazaki Prefecture.

Chicken Nanban is popular in Southeast Asia because of its strong flavor with a good balance of saltiness, acidity, and sweetness.
Aren't you curious about the menu name, Sunrise Tartar Sauce?
Actually, the tartar sauce is made with Shibazuke (a Japanese pickle) to reproduce AirJapan's corporate color, "Akebono" 💡.
Please enjoy not only the taste but also the vivid colors💓

For your information, Chicken Nanban is said to have its roots in a Western-style restaurant in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, where it was made using leftover breast meat.
It is also a menu item that helps to reduce food loss by making unnecessary parts of the meat tastier.
This is one of the concepts behind the development of AirJapan's in-flight meals.

This is the first installment of our long-awaited introduction of “pre-ordered in-flight meals!
We will be bringing you a regular series from now on .

1) “Charcoal-grilled Chicken Rice Bowl with Fluffy and Creamy Egg”

Due to religious beliefs, chicken is a relatively common menu item for many people, and we have adopted the popular and typical Japanese dish, oyakodon.
Oyakodon is familiar to both Japanese and foreign customers, and we take pride in being able to offer fresh eggs.
We hope that everyone, from children to the elderly, will enjoy the taste of the sweetness and dashi broth, a taste that all generations can feel at ease with.

As the name of the menu suggests, the eggs are cooked in an ingenious way to make them soft and fluffy💡
In addition, the chicken is char-grilled, which is popular in Asia, where the food cart culture has taken root.

I recently visited the Kawagoe Festival (held on October 14 and 15, 2023).
The floats are very gorgeous.Those are over 8 meters tall and are decorated differently in each town. And they are pulled through the beautiful warehouse streets of Kawagoe. It was breathtaking✨✨
Today's photo shows the moment when the four floats come together at the intersection of Nakamachi Street📸.
When the floats face each other, the "Hikkawase" is performed.
The competing musical accompaniment of flutes, drums, gongs, and dances adds an extra level of excitement!
In fact, the Kawagoe Festival is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage💡.
You can feel the 370-year history of the festival with your whole body, so you should all visit next year 😊.

AirJapan allows customers to select and purchase what they need.
Seat selection and in-flight meals are available at a discount if purchased in advance at the time of reservation, and you can also choose your favorite from a number of options.
Seat pitch and comfortable leather seats are equal to or better than those of Full Service Carriers.
We also offer in-flight entertainment .

Today we went to Katsunuma in Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, to pick “Shine Muscat grapes♪”
As far as the eye could see, a whole field of grapes was breathtaking, full of fresh aroma❗️🍇💚
We hope everyone will try the sweet and juicy Shine muscat grapes here♪♪

While we were there, we decided to make our original wine glasses at “the Budo Kobo Wine Glass Museum” to commemorate our trip.
We used the special tool to shave the glasses.
It is much harder than it looks😵

Today, I would like to introduce a Japanese summer custom called "Obon".

Generally, Obon is a Japanese custom of welcoming the spirits of ancestors and the deceased for 4 days from August 13 to 16, offering memorial services to them, and sending them off again.

Many Japanese who live far from their parents' homes take time off from work during the Obon season and return to their hometowns with their families.
During this season, as well as New Year's holidays, many people use airplanes✈️

This time, we visited Hakkeijima Sea Paradise in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
There are many attractions at the aquarium, such as interacting with bottlenose dolphins, sardines, and penguins!

When we were guided around by the aquarium keepers, we were impressed by the way they spoke affectionately about the lives in their charge.
