FIBER!! 💚💚💚
The often forgotten wellness boosting macronutrient that deserves the spotlight too 🔦
Are you ingesting enough fiber?
Fiber in vegetables, fruits, beans, and whole grains helps with digestion, weight loss, heart health, and cancer prevention. It can even increase your life span. Meat and dairy products contain no fiber—it’s found only in plant foods.

Extreme weather hits our unhoused community members the hardest. Please share & help us sustain our water supply through the hottest months of the year🥵💧
Unsheltered neighbors who have no choice but to stay outside all day are left with minimal water access. This is why water drops are essential.
There are many ways to help: direct donations of funds or water drops, keep extra waters on you when you travel, volunteering to fill fridge/distributions, food drives and sharing/boosting this and all other local support projects.

Rainbow veggie salad w/ Peanut Sauce 🌈🌱
The second dish we demoed at All Friends on Saturday. The Pranut Sauce is a recipe from ‘s book Quick & Easy. This Peanut sauce is diverse and can be enjoyed over a raw veggie salad w/ black beans (like we prepared), cooked veggies, noodles, it can be a hot or cold dish, and you can add a slash of heat if you so desire.
⬇️⬇️recipe⬇️⬇️
Ingredients
1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
2 large garlic cloves, mince
1 1/2 teaspoons minced ginger
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Directions
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for 1-2 min, or until we’ll blended.
2. Pour over & combine with your base of choice (noodles, veggies, salad)
3. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 1 week.
💚 the raw veggie salad we made included spiraled zucchini, chopped red & yellow sweet peppers, red onion, carrot, purple cabbage, plus 1 can of drained & rinsed black beans.
🐄Please consider donating towards the care of the residents at All Friends. Visit their page for details on how to financially donate and/or how to volunteer your time on Wednesdays.
Hummus Pasta 🌱
This was the first recipe we demoed at Saturday’s event at All Friends. From Toni’s ‘s book QUICK & EASY >> The straight forward recipe is GREAT- but remember it’s encouraged to think outside the box when inspired and mix it up when you can and want to.
This dish can be enjoyed hot, cold, as a noodle dish (gluten free or not), sub the noodles for raw or cooked veggies, add beans or additional veggies to original recipe.
We love easy, diverse, & delicious !
This recipe is all of the above 🌱
⬇️⬇️Recipe⬇️⬇️
Ingredients
1 (1 pound) package of your favorite pasta
1 cup of your favorite hummus
1 cup of chopped sun dried tomatoes
2/3 cup sliced kalamata olives
3 Tbsp minced fresh basil or dried basil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
1. In a large pot, cook the pasta according to the package instructions until tender. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
2. Return the cooked pasta and reserved pasta water to the same pot and stir in the remaining ingredients. Enjoy!
Notes : add a dollop of hummus and splash of warm water to leftovers to enhance creaminess.
**We added artichokes to our hummus pasta during the demo. Have fun with it!

First menu of 2024!✨
Feeling prepared to take over the world after two weeks of less rhythm and less cooking. 😅Where my type A’s at?!! I’m craving some structure over here and it all begins again today. Hallelujah!🙌
Reinspired to cook up some hearty, seasonal deliciousness as we hop into new aspirations and new energy, as the ever-evolving humans we are.
TBH, I sort of drifted through the last half of 2023 on cruise control. Like a long road trip on the same highway for miles and miles, totally content with the soundtrack playing. BUTTT I have made a turn now - and with that:
**I am ready to take on additional clientele!**

***Send us a message to coordinate pick ups and drop offs, or if you’d like to bring to the directly, the address is 5502 Blackthorn Drive***
🌽 Food items needed: Fresh produce, canned fruit & veggies with pop tops, plant milks, olive oil, grains, tofu, tempeh, pasta, vegan butter & cheez, spices like salt & pepper, teabags & instant coffee, and any other vegan dry, refrigerated or frozen goods.
🧤 Other items: Can openers, reusable utensils, fingernail clippers, beanies, scarves, mittens & gloves (synthetic materials), new socks, and emergency blankets.
We know some of these items like olive oil are luxuries, but please note that common boxed items donated to food banks and mutual aid spaces like TSF often need additional components for cooking like oil, or vegan butter. We also often don’t see spices donated like salt & pepper, which can be really helpful, in addition to tea bags and coffee. Please also note that pasta is commonly donated, but is always welcome.
For certain non-food items, can openers are needed because cans without pop-tops are difficult to open for some folx.
Please share, reach out for any questions and remember that in the end, community is all we really have.

Each vigil brings new animals who are exploited who would otherwise go unseen. Each animal individual deserves to be seen, and their stories deserve to be told.
If you’re anti-oppression and against exploitation and cruelty, you can’t leave animals out of the conversation. Their liberation is intertwined with ours.
🌸4 ways to reduce your risk of breast cancer - via
🌸Currently, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
🌸Research suggests that these 4 lifestyle factors can reduce your risk! 💕
It’s ZUCCHINI season!! And that means I’m making 🥒🍅
Here’s what I used (what I had on hand) and some alternative ideas if you wish. I kept this one pretty simple w/ only two layers of zucchini plus all that extra good stuff making up the other layers. Check it out! 🔽
Ingredients
🔸NOODLES : Thinly sliced (roughly 1/8-1/4 in or 1/2 cm) zucchini - enough for two layers in your baking pan.
🔸 FILLER : Lions Mane mushroom crumble (photo on 2nd slide)
>alternative< diced pan cooked or steamed mushrooms, garlic, onion, peppers, greens medley or packaged vegan soy crumbles or seasoned tvp or a mixture of ideas
🔸 CHEESE : ‘s Cashew queso sauce worked brilliantly in this dish (recipe on 3rd slide)
>alternative< vegan packaged cheese medley of ricotta, mozzarella and/or shredded vegan cheese
🔸 SAUCE : 1 can diced tomatoes plus 1 can tomato sauce, mixed w/ added diced onion, onion powder, oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, & basil - to taste
>alternative< 1 bottle marinara sauce or 1 can tomato paste plus spices
Instructions
🔹preheat oven to 400*f
🔹prep individual ingredients : shred zucchini, make queso sauce, make filler, mix tomato sauce.
🔹construction : into a baking pan, please add the following layers -
Tomato sauce
Zucchini
Filler
Queso
Tomato sauce
Zucchini
Queso
Top w/ tomato sauce if you have any left (I did not)
🔹 bake covered for 1 hr
🔹serve hot and enjoy!
We made a 9in pan’s worth and the leftovers were just as tasty days later.
Thank you to my local friend for the larger than life zucchini she grew in her garden (next to my 22 # pup for reference). We were able to make several dishes w/ that beautiful squash.
