Premier League challenge for Prostate Cancer
Gareth, Steve, Liam and I are at the time of writing aiming to be the first to complete a trip to each of the 20 Premier League clubs within 24 hours.
We are aiming to raise at least £800 for Prostate Cancer, a worthwhile cause to be raising money for.
In 12 hours time Gareth, Steve, Liam and I would have been on our way and an hour into our challenge. Whilst we made the right decision over a week ago to postpone this, its disappointing we're not on the road today after planning since November last year.
But, we will be back and we will be undertaking the challenge once we come out the other side, your money is safe!
Be safe, be kind and stay at home.
Evening all,
This evening we have been talking collectively about the current Covid-19 situation. As things stand we will still be doing the challenge on the 27th March as planned, however we are continuing to monitor the situation and will follow all official guidance given by the government and the NHS. The plan will not be to cancel alltogether but to postpone to later date if this becomes necessary.
I'm sure you all understand we want the challenge to be a success but need to ensure we are not putting ourselves or other members of the public at risk. If you have donated already, thank you! your donation will not be forgotten and we will most definitely be fulfilling our commitment and doing the challenge as soon as we are able to.
We will post updates to this page, but we are all keeping our fingers tightly crossed to go ahead as planned!!
Many thanks Gareth, Liam, Steve and Trevor.
Today in 3 weeks time we will hopefully have returned home having visited all 20 Premier League grounds inside 24 hours.
We are adding a bit extra into proceedings as we travel around the country and here's how you can get involved.
At each of the 20 grounds we will be hiding in a sensible place £5 in an envelope with congratulations to each finder. If you find the envelope, we ask that you do the following 3 things:
1) Like our page
2) Take a picture of you at the stadium with the money
3) Upload the picture to this FB page
We will be uploading pictures and videos throughout the 24 hour period so you can track our updates of where these envelopes might be.
We are also looking for a business sponsor for the trip for £100, in return we will plug your business name all through our videos and updates and right through the next three weeks. If you are interested please get in contact with us as soon as possible.
4 weeks from today the four of us will sitting in the car park of the Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium car park primed for the off to visit all 20 Premier League grounds inside of 24 hours.
We're pretty confident we can do it and although we can't be the first to complete it, we can be the fastest. The car is hired, the hotel for the end is booked, just the small bit of lots of driving in the middle!
It's not to late to donate, sponsor or contribute in any way you see fit, we're raising as much money as we can for Prostate Cancer, you can sponsor one of us via a message to the page or via the link below. If you know Liam, Gareth, Steve or Trevor personally we have sponsor forms ready and waiting for you!

On Tuesday evening we sat down for some more planning and secured a 4th member of the team, welcome Liam Spinks!
We also all talked about which grounds we were all looking forward to going to and seeing the reasons why:
Gareth: I'm looking forward to seeing St James Park and Villa Park, firstly because many have said how amazing SJP is and Villa Park because of the nostalgia of FA Cup semi-finals and history that comes with the stadium. Also the new stadium at Tottenham for the wow factor.
Trevor: My two are St James Park and Turf Moor for the second choice. Similar reasons for SJP which is also my mum's team and Turf Moor because Burnley was the club where my great uncle Ray Pointer spent most of his playing career in the 60's.
Liam: I've chosen St James Park as well, the sheer size and how impressive it looks from the outside. Tottenham for me as well because it's a new stadium and have loads good about it. Also Goodison Park because it's literally opposite a row of houses and think it's great that it had such a presence in the community.
Steve: For me pretty similar to the other guys St James Park, Villa Park and Tottenham's new stadium, the others have all mentioned what a fantastic place it looks at SJP, Villa Park has been around for years amongst changing stadia and Spurs just looks breath taking from the outside.
We are still looking for any donations you wish to make and if anyone out there would like to sponsor us in some way, shape or form then please get in contact with us.
During the night and day we will be posting pictures of us at every ground we visit and also live video updates along the way here on the page.
It's now under two months until we set off from Bournemouth on Fri 27th March aiming to visit all 20 Premier League grounds before finishing in Manchester 24 hours later.
You can donate at any time between now and 28th March by sponsoring us or donating via our just giving page (details below) or if you donate direct to Prostate Cancer please let us know so we can add it to our total.
We hope in the next few days to reveal whose replacing James as the 4th member of the team and also to give an update on the amount we've raised so far.

So in the news today it really hit home why we are doing this. It was announced this morning that the number of men dying from prostate cancer is at an all time high with over 12,000 men dying of the the disease in 2017.
This is why we are doing this to try and help reduce this number. If you can spare anything please donate to a great cause on the Link below.
